Joseph Conrad really wrote the best novella of all time, didn’t he?
Just finished Heart of Darkness for the umpteenth time. It really is the most haunting depiction of colonialism… my reading of it has matured, from when I first read it at 18. I no longer view the novella through the lens of postcolonial psychoanalysis, examining Europe’s guilt-ridden, traumatised psyche. Instead, I think it is much, much deeper—it is about man’s inability to reckon with his own interiority; it is about how mankind will never be able to confront the monsters he projects into the shadows. It is about how the mind makes its own shadows, and all the light in the world is an illusion.

It's about retarded um bongo nogs and how annoying they are. The real heart of darkness is the Congo.

I have read Heart of Darkness. You have externally imagined an pattern and mapped it onto the book's events because you are delusional, presumptious, and a certain kind of leftist.

To elaborate, no-one has read the Secret Agent and come up with some deranged bollocks about how it's ackshually to do with something else, because first of all that's untenable (just like your theories) but second and more importantly of all, due to the actual content of the narrative it is not plausibly and coherently possible to do so.

All leftists want to do when they read a text is perniciously embed their leftist thought parasite into it and exploit the interpretation to their own benefit. First to spread their ideology, but also that's what their universities and careers are made of. It thrills them to pervert and undermine the actual message of a thoroughly chuddish text like Heart of Darkness.

So, when you read that book for the nineteenth time how about you engage with what the book actually says.

You seem really mad that I have a better education than you.

Weird how you don’t refute his point, you merely insult his education. If you are as educated as you say, this should be easy for you.

>>25226758
He didn’t make an argument. He just projected his own opinion into the piece, ironically, as much as he claimed I was doing that. Let me sum up why he is wrong: “The death of the author is the birth of the reader.”

"educated" at leftist indoctriantion centers that lead you to retarded interpretations of everything you read
>The death of the author is the birth of the reader.
This is how "educated" retards justify not doing close textual criticism and just applying their own ideology to a work.
