People on Reddit think I’m an AI merely because I post literary criticism quickly and talk out of my ass, but they think it’s too well-written for such low effort posts. I guess I have owned the Turing test.

Can you talk out of your ass about this phenomena of women like her and Sinead O'Connor suddenly turning to islam for no discernible reason?

>no discernible reason?
It's attention. Whenever anyone anywhere asks why a woman does anything, the answer is attention. If stupid news items like this did not result, she'd give it up overnight.

The reasons for conversion to Islam—the fastest growing faith in the world—are many, variegated, and multitude. Where one person may convert for reasons of personal faith and identity, others may be drawn to the long history and cultural richness of Islam—the religion of peace. While Muslims may speak Arabic, and are centred in the Middle East, they are a super-diverse cohort in world religion. And this does not come without linguistic idiosyncrasies and intercultural dialogue. You have the example of Rae Lil Black and Sinead O’Connor—both of whom are female entertainers and prolific public figures. They found empowerment in Allah, and we should respect their decision to make Shahada.

Nice… I’ll have to look her up… I wonder if she shot a film in a hijab and it made her want to convert?

But then why haven't I heard from her at all since her conversion? Seems like a very shortsighted bid for attention.

Uncanny

She was my favorite "star" until she got all that plastic surgery. It's a weird feeling to be repulsed by the same woman who was once so stimulating. At least the old videos still exist.
