>guys, what do I need to read before I start Nietzsche!?

Don't worry. I got you, bro. You should be good to go now.
>>
Why would you read a dork loser like Nietzsche in the first place?
>>

>t. last man
>>
>>25227054
So that you can either explain your problems with him more accurately or so that you can come to understand that he's actually right. The scholars you hate the most are frequently the ones you'd benefit the most from reading.

>shy virgin dork who daydreams about being le great warrior just like Neetzsche
>>
>>25227062
He wasn't ''right'' about anything, he was an ugly germoid manlet who hated himself and created a pathetic edgelord philosophy to cope with his dorky condition
>>
>>25227073
You would need to read him to know any of that. I don't even like Nietzsche that much. He believes in a progressive theory of history where the Master and the Slave will be replaced by the Last Man and the Overman. I had to read him to be able to articulate why I disagree with him.

By strawmanning someone you haven't read, you achieve nothing other than embarrassing yourself.
>it's le bait!
Nevertheless embarrassing.
>>
>>25227073
This is so gay, why are you people still doing this? There are plenty of valid issues one can take with Nietzsche but spamming “hurr durr he’s a gay loser” just proves that you are small minded and probably haven’t even cracked a book of his. TLDR kill yourself as soon as possible.

Plato's Gorgias already explained Nietzsche's views better than he himself ever did. I loathe all the time I wasted reading him.

What does any of this have to do with Nietzsche or the books in the OP?
>>
Tragedy and wagner are only really useful for the birth of tragedy. You'll have to engage with the western philosophical canon leading up to him if you want to properly understand his books. Also the bible, and much history.
>>
It's funny nietzche has so utterly btfo'd Plato and sophistry with poetry.
>>
>>25227467
Whenever Nietzsche name-drops a philosopher, he always provides context and all his claims are timeless and universal and not dependent on historical context. All you need is in the translator's introduction or the footnotes.
>>
>>25227443
pay no attention to the chud chart schizo, he's in every other thread

Either bait or never read.
>>
>>25227568
You basically don't need any preliminary reading beyond a basic high school education to understand BGE and Zarathustra. Nietzsche's literary critiques demand far more preliminary reading than any of his philosophical work.
