In all honesty, this is a masterpiece that will stand the test of time even better than Infinite Jest or other contemporary classics.

In due time it will be regarded as DFW’s magnum opus

David Foster Wallace fanboys love to read a total of 20 books and then declare Wallace is the peak of literature.
>>

20 books? DFW has written that many? I thought I had read all he had! (I've only read him)
He is peak!

When did I declare that? He isn’t. But among the so-called postmodernists he is surely among the best.

I'm pretty hesitant to read books published posthumously from notes and cobbled together by editors or a descendent or whoever. It seems like there's a good chance it won't stay true to the author's vision.

I only read that and not IJ. If you really liked TPK I would recommend ‘The Hermit’ by Ionesco which has some similar themes

what even are these "so-called postmodernists"?
>>
>>25227146
The question still stands.
>>25227149
The authors who are attributed to the postmodernist movement.

it's all just post-structuralism thrown into a bag without much thought. Artists are like that.

Generally I would agree but in fairness Wallace left the unfinished manuscript arranged very purposefully for it to be found with the intention that it would be read and published so this one is an exception in my view

You can barely get people to acknowledge DFW was a prominent figure these days. None of his shit is lasting 100 years.
