This is completely unrealistic. If he were checking the back of the book for more information on what the hell he is reading, it would be on the other side.

Also yes, just recently I was reading a book that had a cliche trio of bully characters and one of them randomly turned out to be female.
>>
>read historical novel
>imagine characters as handsome badasses
>look up their real portraits
>they all look like John Adams

>Female military general
>Female commanding officer
>Female frontline combat veteran
Yup, it's FICTION alright.

It would depend on if the book were to be read left-to-right or right-to-left. Sorry I missed your joke.

>look up their ages
>they're all like 27
>they're also all barely-functioning alcoholics
>it's the signers of the Declaration of Independence

... sorry, no, I'm wrong about their ages.
but maybe not about how much they drank.

I generally look up at least a little bit about the books I plan to read and avoid fan fiction like the plague so I don’t get surprised with sudden Mary Sues.

They didn't have Tylenol back then, so they couldn't choose autism.

>great lawyer
>stable job and home
>family and kids
>he’s 21 years old
Yup it’s history time.

I usually just pick an appearance at the beginning of the novel and just run with it ignoring most other contradictiing informations that may arise
I know it's fun to dab on aphantasia niggers but I genuinely don't think it's that important to visualise everything you read at all times

I imagine every female military character as Empress Theresa it saves mindspace.

nothing about combat between space ships really requires male strength and hardiness
even for space marines, being on a ship negates the biggest downsides of female grunts: they suck at rucking and living in poor conditions

They were all autistic. We used to rule the world. Back when brains mattered most.

How many great female drone pilots are there? It's more than just the physical, the mental difference is as important.
>>
>>25228198
The book is in Japanese, though.
>>
>>25227895
I'll take it. Some authors tell character-driven stories but won't even bother describing what they look like.

Common occurrence when the cover illustration is completely different from how the text describes the character.
