The Nanda Empire collapsed just a few years after Alexander turned back. Isn't that very interesting? I find it very reasonable to assume that the Greeks would have learned about the precarious political situation of the Nandas and would try to take advantage of it. This would be the only window of opportunity to invade India, since under any semblance of political stability the difference in strength would be too great. Yet Alexander turned back. I wasn't entirely convinced about the mutiny explanation for the retreat of the Greeks before, but now I think it's the most compelling one. Perhaps his advance into the Punjab was too rapid to consolidate the logistics necessary to even sustain a long-term military presence in the area. It's also pretty interesting that Alexander allegedly didn't plan to launch a second Indian conquest after retreating.

Dunno if i got this right, but it was my impression that the nearby greco-bactrian empire was the longest lasting piece of alexander's empire.

>>25229116Interesting, you voluntarily force yourself to forget that between you and Porus, Alexander considered Porus to be his equal while you would've probably been served between his rabid army.Secondly, though blanket hate for a region is understandable yet to not acknowledge history or educate yourself simply on the campaigns of Alexamder, is a greater sign of your low class.I've found this amongst the Internet wignats who are not well read, can only posts quotes from the Internet than read literature, has no context of the books or the author yet take pride in it. This behaviour is adjacent to blacks in America and the proles in India
