It’s funny. I wouldn’t own it if I didn’t get it for free at a charity shop

It's a book frequently found in charity shops, actually, alongside books by Marian Keyes and Dick Francis. It feels appropriate, like that is Morrissey's true literary home, not Penguin.

It is. Genuinely well-written, he has a very engaging style. Peters out a bit after the court case, which makes perfect sense in a way, since being utterly defeated and humiliated in such a clear and dramatic fashion is the highlight of Morrissey's life.

both he and the smiths are shit and irrelevant, there's no worth whatsoever in reading his book. if you want a music related autobiography read MIngus' "Beneath the Underdog".

>Decides a thing's value by how "relevant" it is

And it never really began

There's a moment where he calls his jobcentre agent a fat elepthant which is pretty based but majority of it is him crying that he's depressed.

It's definitly more fruity and funny than most musician's biographies and autobiographies. It's great to read with some pseudo ironic dettachment on it even if there are countless bands with way crazier personal stories involved with them
