It depends on the sort of alcoholic you are, Sutt was a binge drinker and drank to get shitfaced, he wanted to feel sick. The more steady alcoholic just maintains their drunk and ceases to feel drunk unless they want to and drink a bottle of whiskey in a short period of time. When you drink like this you will wake up feeling drunk instead of hung over, but hair of the dog and you are good to go until when ever you decide to start up your drinking again.

Alaska is pretty much like that, most will probably want SE Alaska where it does not drop much below 20F but then you miss out on the fun of midnight sun and sunless winter. If you don't mind working your ass off for a few months of the year, you can have the rest of the year off, which is quite nice, lots of seasonal work that pays well because most can't hack it and only make it through their first season because they have a contract and will make almost nothing if they break it.
