Do any anons wanna do creative writing General thread? Like once a day we have topic and we try our best to create short story or paragraph based on the topic for anons to read. I'm curious if your interestedTopic 1: Your a college student struggling in your first year and come across new drug on street that helps you focus for extended periods of time but there's an unexpected symptom
i'd prefer not. this is a literature board not a wannabe writer board.
>>25233009How can you be a good reader if you can't write well in first place?
>>25233007There was a pulp writing general almost a year back and I never got to show my story before the generals stopped. That’d be cool but it seems that there aren’t enough creative writers here who actually write to keep the general going
>contrived promptI miss the old /write/ culture.
>>25233017I mean it'll be something of few of us do it everyday. I just want a few people to do it on consistent basis as a way of getting anons to critique each others writing styles and to improve. Can't expect editor to read your 200 page book but if your doing these small snippets every once in a while you might improve with practice.>>25233021I'm open to ideas
>>25233007No, not really.
>>25233023Your prompt gives or strongly implies plot, a twist, theme, and character, you are reducing it to the mechanics and act of writing, this isn't even a fun exercise in constrained writing and to actually exercise any real creativity with it is mostly creativity in cheating the prompt and not in writing. /lwc/ has the same issue, these sort of prompts only serve to get people in the habit of writing, for anyone in the habit and moved on from basics it is mind numbing, like going to /sci/ and giving them a page of basic addition to do. So /lwc/ started to slowly die on day one.If you want to get something like this going you need to get writers of all levels interested, your prompts need to give as little as possible so the plotfag can write their story and the prosefag can write a descriptive passage and even the versefags can join in if they feel like it. The classic prompt on /lit/ back in the day was simply:>in your best prose <word>Gives a lot of room for anyone even if it often scares away beginners or they find it pretentious but someone will use it for a simple and effective story and some beginners will try their hand at it and see it wasn't pretentious, they were. Pictures are good for prompts as well, you just need to make sure it is not a picture where the subject is a story. It will probably take some time and effort to get a new write culture to develop on /lit/, I would suggest treating it like your own writing exercise, explore the prompt, writing and your limits by bumping with content, a new and different take on the prompt or perhaps a stylistic change on a previous attempt, etc etc etc.
>>25233207>even the versefags can join in if they feel like itEh no let's keep them out
>>25233007Only if you allow essayists like moi
>>25233007>once a dayJust let it go until the thread dies and don't be autistic about it being your "thing", make threads a few times a month and let others make threads if they feel like it. Keep it anonymous and casual.
Fuck man, never thought I’d be one of those kids to use drugs to study but here I am. This was the first time I bought Adderall on the dark web. I would get a prescription but thoughts of suicide seemed more preferable than having to talk to someone about my problems in order to get prescribed. I also have a friend that sells generic Adderall which he raised the prices to $30 a pop because exams are coming up. He’s ethnically Jewish if that explains anything. So instead I’ve done my research on buying drugs online using Tor, Monero, virtual machines, drug sites (surprisingly they have better customer service than legal sites), The whole nine yards. The package finally arrived and upon opening it there was a decoy prop that had the goodies inside and a note that said “Thanks for purchasing on our Etsy page.” Clever. Before I consume it, I also bought a drug urine test which tests to see if it really is the methamphetamine that it claims to be. I crushed it up and put it in water and see what results show up. The test checks for all the major drugs marijuana, heroin, fentanyl, meth, psychedelics and what we want positive for methamphetamine. 48 hours later I check back on the results. Negative on all. “Goddammit. Sugar pills.” I told my roommate about all this which in hindsight it wasn't a good idea but I wanted to brag that I can get drugs online. He says “Damn that sucks” and leans over and grabs one and swallows it. “Dude? Wtf?” “Tastey”A few hours go by and I’m finally coming to terms that I have to go my entire college life with the inferior focusing option, energy drinks. When I heard an intense sobbing from my roommate's room. I go to check up on him and I find hurled up on the floor facing the wall and weeping intensely. I sat in front of him; his eyes were as dilated as eyes can get. Waving my hand “Hey are you okay? What’s wrong?” No response. I patted him. No response. I shook him. No response. He kept that sort of thousand yard stare whilst tears poured through his eyes, a hysterical moan he let out. It wasn’t one that sounded of physical pain but as if you heard the news that your parents died in a car crash. There’s no way that pill he took caused this. I really didn’t want to take him to the hospital since these weren’t typical signs of overdosing, however I’ve never heard of symptoms like these before on anything. I stood up and went to grab my phone when he grabbed my leg. “Carter is that you? God, please tell me that’s you.” Cracks and squeaks were heard in his voice.“Yes Jude! It’s me! How do you feel? Do you need to go to the hospital?”More hysterical sobbing continued. I could tell he was trying to say something but he was so overwhelmed with emotions that he couldn’t say anything.“Blink twice if you think you need to go to the hospital.”thus my flow of writing ends here. Idk what to put next. Also I realized I didn’t follow your prompt exactly but idc.
>>25233379Amphetamine not methamphetamine. My mistake.
Am in Ottawa with wife down to do cocaine and write or share writing together :) If interested will post discord to vet through video call
>>25233007I always enjoyed those collective google doc projects. I even bought one of the books the board wrote (L'anomie).
>>25233207>So /lwc/ started to slowly die on day one./lwc/ started to die when people noticed they use AI for the prompts and that it was all just a circlejerk for the organizer and xir discord friends
