i read her other series (throne of glass) which is decent fantasy. she obviously wrote one with some discipline, and one with whatever slop thoughts came at the moment.
TOG has a much more grounded, coherent, planned out plot and worldbuilding. you can tell she likes 'muh ancient shizz' and it works in TOG, but ACOTAR just repeatedly undercuts it because every single thing is 500 years old, except things as added to the book, each of which is 3x times ancienterer than the last in a random mishmash of incoherent magicky bullshit.

DISCIPLINE is important and the same lack of discipline is why court of thorns/etc is horny slop.
