It's great. There's a reason the whole Scientology thing grew out of it. That doesn't mean you have to like Scientology, but it wouldn't have gotten so big without something genuinely insightful to grow from.
>>

What's insightful about Hubbard or Scientology?
>>
>>25234501
It's his worst written book by far. Dianetics: The Original Thesis gets the point across much better
>>
L Ron Hubbard was a Thelemic Satan-worshipper.

Dianetics is BS but a few of his books and lectures do contain some good thoughts. Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought, The Problems of Work, and New Slant on Life are pretty good. Self Analysis is also relatively good for introspection. Also for lectures, Help is good, Responsibility: The Third Dynamic is good, and The Wrong Thing to do is Nothing is good.

Scientology ropes people in by genuinely offering good practical advice before getting into past life and space opera BS, aside from Dianetics of course which is BS that they give you from the get go. Not everything he wrote and said is BS, some of it is very good, but there's more BS than not so you have to take most of what he says with a grain of salt and not go full kool-aid.

One line from Problems of Work that sticks with me is how LRH said something along the lines of "man needs problems, because a man without problems will create problems". You see this very often IRL, especially with spoiled rich kids who live problem free lives trying to get create made up BS to crusade over in college campuses.

No, I think it's safe to dismiss out of hand based on the actions of its followers, kind of like the Communist Manifesto.
>>
>>25235092
>Anti-communist also outs himself as an intellectual midget
Many such cases

Dianetics is Florida pilled.

Can't believe I feel like pulling the trigger and buying a literal cult authors self help books because I can't get control over my mind despite the numerous self help books on the subject. The power of now didn't work, Psychocybernetics didn't work and a bunch of others that aren't even worth remember have not. I feel like a mentally ill self help junkie. And worst of all it feels like my own mind is against me.

Go with Happy Science instead. It's like a Japanese version Scientology that believes in "space people" and they make anime.
>>
>>25235321
No, I'm not interested in the woo side of things sorry, let alone tranime.
>>
>>25235327
Well, you're a depressive fag who reads self-help slop and you're shopping for a cult. Happy Science would at least make you interesting and it has "happy" right in the title.

Happy science is based and true if you just ignore the shit about le hecking supreme ultimate messiah mecha-turbo buddha has returned as some japanese cult leader

It's actually sort of cool that Scientology is a deeply fake cult designed to serve a specific guy who was actually in a different cult. Reminds me of Raymond Bernard, the French intelligence agency who would travel around setting up the cult apparatus and handing it off to the worst schizo he could find so they'd do a mass suicide. Then he started a fake charity in Africa to turn Cameroon into Baphomet worshippers. True story.
>>
Its fairly bloated and ultimately not helpful in understanding or practicing Scientology. However it has a sense of excitement which can be fun.

This poster >>25235041 is largely on the money, though I will say I think the books they mentioned are only good compared to other Scientology ones. Hubbard has a fun avuncular flair that really comes out in his lectures and some of the basic books
>>
>>25234501
The Nation of Islam are apparently big fans of Dianetics

>Communism says it's all about the worker and seizing the means of production
>kills hundreds of millions of workers and makes the government the only owner of property every time
>you're still falling for it
>but I'm the retard
Lmao
>>
>>25237174
>but I'm the retard
You got that part right. Also your retardation logically follows from the rest of your pitpul about communism. Q.E.D.
>>
>>25235308
Watch the guy on YouTube that talks retard maxxing
>>
>>25235092
The commie you are talking to is a retarded faggot but I also disagree with your logic here. Some of the stupidest belief will get you great results in life and believing the most true shit is bleak and depressing and is a net drag on your life.

his four categories of survival are copies of that of several other thinkers (gurdjieff came to mind): living for self preservation (body), living for sex (passions), living for group (mind), living for all (the will)

the work seems to capitalize on the need for philosophy of mind given people were recently shoving ice picks up noses, it reads like theosophy / the various pseudo quackeries branching out of freud. he cannot seem to resolve fact versus opinion, maybe intentionally and he has resolved it, or not to give it rhetorical flourish.

if some of the words are corrrect reasoning, or deceitful attempts to inflate your trust in the text, you wouldn't be able to tell if you hadn't gained this knowledge beforehand//

Maybe freezone Scientologists are but CoS Scientologists are absolutely not.

what makes you so sure nonny

Declared SP. Scientologists are very cautious about social media and go out of their way to avoid anything related to Scientology online that isn't from the CoS itself or the semi-official Facebook group in order to avoid "Black PR" about Scientology.
>>
>>25237569
And the church never, ever uses their slaves to push things or experiment. It's never, say, forced its adherents to buy every dianetics they could find
>>
>>25237571
I can tell you have no real life experience with the church and are just going off assumption.

Don't need it, scientologist, they've gotten caught doing it before. With battlefield earth too.

Declared SP, as previously said.

I invented Scientology.
