Last night i was having a discussion about Revelation 7:14, so I was hoping someone can tell me if im wrong or not:This guy quoted Revelation 7:14 from the English Revised Version of the bible and talks about 'THE GREAT tribulation'( These are they which come out of the great tribulation), but when i did check this same verse from King James Bible version it only says 'These are they which came out OF GREAT tribulation'(talking about an average tribulation, not the big one from the armageddon).So about which tribulation Revelation 7:14 is talking about? About an average tribulation or about the big one from end of times?

The KJV in particular is fond of interpreting phrases with articles as indefinite, a common example being τὸ πτερύγιον "a(?) pinnacle" in Matthew 4:5.

>>25235397I think the source of the KJV's reading is probably from the Latin translation that Erasmus did alongside his Greek edition or the Vulgate, neither of which have articles and therefore can be read as of great tribulation (de tribulatione magna). >>25235105>Personally I like the Pulpit Commentary.I was discussing with a Jehova Witness and he said that this tribulation was from those who suffered the armageddon, and i said that didn't make sense because all the Christians would be removed from the earth during the rapture so i said that the people from Revelation 7:14 were people coming from average tribulation and not THE GREAT tribulation from the end of times.
