My brother is doing time in jail. Not much of a reader up until now, but he asked us for some books. Mom sent him Viktor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning" and Kafka's "The Castle", but I think we can do better.Dude's pretty disheartened.Any suggestions?
The Tartar Steppe. He will love it even as the horror sets in. How long is he going to be in jail? What is doing time for?
>>25238600>The Tartar Steppe>"Drogo finds in his watch over the fort he has let years and decades pass and that, while his old friends in the city have had children, married, and lived full lives, he has come away with nothing except the solidarity with his fellow soldiers in their long, patient vigil."Doesnt sound very uplifting lmaoWe expect him to stay there for 2 to 5 years. Caught selling drugs. Everything kind of sucks there, but he's mostly bummed out about his gf breaking up with him once he got there.
>>25238610Its not meant to be uplifting but to smack some sense into the reader and help them get their act together.
>>25238581why the fuck would you send him books about being in prison when HE IS ALREADY IN PRISON?Monte Cristo is fine but beyond that you should send him shit that's short and easy to read.Does he like fantasy games? send him The Broken Sword.Does he like GTA? send him Hard Rain Falling or Pop. 1280 or Black Wings has my Angel.Does he like sports games? I dunno. it depends on the sport.Does he like Cyberpunk 2077? probably some bullshit by neal stephenson.Does he like marve movies? Mistborn.Does he like Chris Nolan? Fucked in my own butt by my own book fucked in my own butt by my own butt by chuck tingle
>>25238581I gave that Viktor Frankl to my mother for mother's day a few years ago
>>25238621That’s hilariously autistic of OP. Could be funny if his brother has a sense of humour
>>25238581Papillion
Bible with a void cut into it for a nail file.
Prison can be pretty boring so send him something entertaining. Maybe fantasy, horrro, sci-fi depending on what he prefers.
