I did it again.I accidentally brought an "adaptation" of a book I wanted to read.I mistook "Penguin Classics" for "Penguin Readers" (books for people learning English) and got a 70-page book (where every other page is an engraving) of a book that normally has around 250 pages. Why does god punish dumb people??? It's the third time I've done this.
Don't fret anon, I did the same thing a couple days ago. I was inside a book exchange booth, where I found a cool edition of the epic of Gilgamesh. While I was mirin this book, a copy of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde also caught my eye. After bringing both books home, I realised that the latter was an illustrated children's dumbed-down version of the novella.
apparently i hate niggers so much even their fingers disgust me
>>25238907kinda your fault if you pick up a book with this cover tbeeqh
>>25239107Nop
>>25239151Probably a better read than original
>>25239172is it bad?Honest question, I saw it as a recommendation from some other books I enjoyed on Goodreads...
>>25238907It must suck not being European, where mass-paperbacks of the classics are easily accessible. Good luck to your devloping country, hopefully you'll get real books soon, anon.
>>25239191I remember picking up a paperback of L'Etranger from a little mobile bookcart along the Seine and reading it while visiting Paris as a teenager. I honestly had no idea what a meme I was being and wasn't doing it in a pretentious way at all but now it sounds like the most pretentious thing ever.
>>25239397>le cringe at my past self for reading a classic
>>25239397>pretentiousReading a book while on a stroll isn't pretentious, nigga.
