Engels is right that the first class distinction is made between the sexes. And Veblen is right that this original class distinction is the model for all others. When women are turned to servitude in primitive societies, they do the manufacturing, e.g. basket weaving, transportation and warehouse, e.g. carrying everything and packing it, agriculture, e.g. gathering, and so on.

So today, to be a wage slave is to be economically the woman class. And to be a capitalist including criminals, is to be economically a patriarch.
