All the stars, The planets and the universe cannot commit suicide, Add to that the animals, plants and all objects. We are the only ones capable of ending our lives, Suicide is the only thing that differentiates us from anything at all, We stop our life from continuing in the harmony of life.
Consciousness is just our perception of a particular cognitive emergent phenomena. All we are, same as the stars and planets, are atoms. Atoms are not alive or dead. The atoms constituting our form becoming something else escapes the binary of alive of dead which is just a subjective framing of our experience in the universe. Given that, we can reasonably speculate that consciousness - even if in a radically different form from what we experience - may be possible in other forms and arrangements of matter. Maybe a star going supernova is committing suicide. Maybe a black hole is a part of the universe that's killed itself.
>>25241126So tell me, Is suicide an exit from the eternal recurrence?
>>25241144Atoms don't exist and perception isn't emergent.
>>25241144>subjective framing of our experience in the universeI'm aware of that>may be possible in other forms and arrangements of matter.>Maybe a star going supernova is committing suicide. Maybe a black hole is a part of the universe that's killed itselfGood point anon, Fair counterargument actually, But again our conception of ourselves is so impeccable that it's hard to dictate that there is a consciousness that matches ours, But even if there was one, We're still not aware of it/or is not in the radar of our researches.Regardless, Consciousness exists indeed, But it is graded, The will-to-live varies in each speck of life, It is more weak willed in stars, Less individuated than our individuation and awareness of our existance, A star can impossibly commit suicide because suicide requires full awareness, Even Animals cannot commit it, Yes maybe their conception of death far more differs than us, But their death occurs due to physical relativity and the natural circumstances that lead to death (like a heart attack) But in our advanced consciousness, Suicide is the abolishment of the self. It's not only normal death, It is a self willed death in which we just do it because we want to do it, It does not happen naturally
>>25241126what if Satan has been fighting his whole life to kill god for our peace
>>25241171It has happened naturally though, we evolved this way. We evolved from animals. Most animals have a cellular apoptosis process for cells to kill themselves. Cells are the unit of life on Earth. We have just possibly developed a meta-altruism gene that enables us to kill ourselves if we see it as for the good of the tribe, e.g. being too old and injured, draining resources in a time of scarcity. That could in term allow a tribe to survive hard times, selecting for those genes that allowed for a decision of suicide, by first having it arise in situations where an individual committing suicide is optimal for the survival of his children and extended family. The execution of this capacity can then go wrong (as any other mental faculty can) with suboptimal decisions of suicide for tribal health.
>>25241126But is consciousness capable of homicide?
>>25241194Yeah it's either pointless or if we try to run more with the narrative, Suicide when you most want to do it for your own self and to ascend, Is more in control of yourself than commiting suicide for martyrdom. So it's always on the perspective of the suicide committer.
>>25241126>We are the only ones capable of ending our livesprove that you can end your life
>>25241126>We are the only ones capable of ending our livesObjectively false. That animals are capable of ending their lives is not contestable. Bees are an example. Ending one's life doesn't necessarily constitute suicide, however. Whether or not animals are capable of suicide is contested and not a proven either way.
>>25241126Suicide is just a factor of intelligence.Suicide is statistically rare even among humans. You might think the people who seem to suffer the most are the most likely to commit suicide but no that is not the case at all.The 80, 90, 100 IQ sweatshop workers, people in war torn countries, literal slaves, insane vagrants, drug addicts, cripples, chronically ill, all of these people for the most part are not committing suicide.Even in all their struggle the thought might not even cross their minds. Like a wolf caught in a trap they'd rather gnaw off their own leg than succumb to death. It's intelligent comfortable 1st worlders that commit suicide. And that is because even with what might seem to be a paltry intelligence it is in fact the exact right amount for survival and everybody else has too much. This is the most convincing argument for the idea that there really is no greater meaning to life than what you find in the most basic organisms. That intelligence is a mere survival mechanism that can and has developed beyond it's necessity and will autocorrect itself in time. It's backed up even further by the fact that the same intelligent people will also breed less if at all.
Whales commit suicide >>25241702>The 80, 90, 100 IQ sweatshop workers, people in war torn countries, literal slaves, insane vagrants, drug addicts, cripples, chronically ill, all of these people for the most part are not committing suicide.Physical suffering keeps people occupied. Mental suffering happens due to boredom and comfort.
My friend’s dog commit suicide (allegedly)
name another animal that can play eroge.
>>25241188What a twist!!
Suicide is kinda cringe though
