What if there was a vitalist philosophical concept called "Plodding" where the philosopher suggesting it as a valid concept does so (or tries to do so) by pointing out that traditionally "complex" thinking and theorems actually lack merit because they are directly divorced from the most natural and base state of human existence, where such elaborate thinking in a stationary and academic fashion, i.e. "Plodding", would have minimal practical application because the natural world is rife with peril and adversaries (be it other men or animals) who could pursue, simpler, basic, barbaric means of ensuring they succeed over you and your theorems? Accusation if "Plodding" therefore would undermine most traditional forms of thinking about the world in a philosophical sense, as the philosophy in question would take place in an environment that is wholly unnatural. It would demand means of thinking that have value in a way not traditional of any philosophy. Those opposed to "Plodding" would argue that abstraction, logical rigor, universal principles derived through pure reason and intricate systems are performative within safe subsidized bubbles wholly divorced from simpler heuristics and things more inherent to human existence: apid pattern recognition, physical courage, tribal loyalty, cunning, and raw endurance. He could even argue that the barbarians who took over Greece ultimately won by embodying these things over a placid, decadent society that did a lot of thinking but not a lot of figuring.
There's this book called Might is Right
>>25242995Late classical Greek intellectual culture coincided with demographic decline, mercenary reliance, loss of martial vigor and eventual subsumption under invaders who didn't suffer any of those problems. The "plodders" as you describe them theorized beautifully about virtue and the polis while their birthrates fell and all the borders weakened. So it's not a complete failure of an idea.

God obviously knew that the procedure would be used for adultery or no fault divorce, however, by defining the procedure, He prevented women from filing for divorce. in the New Testament, divorce is forbidden, therefore there is no procedure, therefore women file for divorce* beyond not defining divorce procedure to forestall the worst effects of divorce, the New Testament reveals some mysteries about God, that Jesus is God's Son and also God, consequently, there has been a lot of unfortunate debate consuming resources men and empires regarding how this can be
>>25242995i think you're acting a little dumb and very evil.>traditionally "complex" thinking and theorems actually lack merit because they are directly divorced from the most natural and base state of human existencethe base state of being human is to find yourself in a world of senseless activity - being chased by wild animals or tribal rivals, for example - and to then pause and think, 'i know i'm infinitely more than this, i know we can build something better than this, i know we haven't seen anything yet.' *that's* the life instinct. that's what should concern vitalists. all this anti-thought talk sounds to me very anti-life.human consciousness lifts itself above the facts of mere existence. it escapes from the chase and flies towards its mysterious freedom, its infinite desire. cunning wants to drag it back down, snout to the ground, eyes scanning the treeline for predators. but you become human when your world stops being a zone of prey and predators and starts becoming a landscape, something shaped, cultural, meaningful, free from brute necessity. this has nothing to do with complex theorems. it's just part of being human.it's certainly easier to get by with cunning instead of consciousness. it's true that a tribe who don't philosophise might outsmart you in combat, just as a ceo with his ai model can determine your economic fate no matter how braindead and soulless he is. indeed i think ai is cunning embodied, thought reduced to pure power, pure manipulation of the world - means without consciousness of ends. all the more reason in this age to remember what human consciousness is all about.

This reminds me of The Little Engine That Could, I guess. I think what you're describing is more of an ideology than a concept though, especially near the end of your post where you have it branch off into a bunch of practical applications for life. But the plain concept of an indominable, simple will is not that much different from Spinoza's conatus, I think? AKA the striving to continue existing and increase its power as it goes along. Also, I don't think it's necessarily fair to blanket dismiss all of philosophy as an exercise in overthinking. Concepts like being or existence or even mathematics are over-generalized to the point that they kind of stand beside everything that goes on socially in everyday life. So, in some sense they are a kind of anti-thought that does not even need to be 'conjured up' because the ideas are so pervasive and basic. With that in mind, I think your grievance is actually with the philosophers rather than their ideas and at that point the idea of an indominable, simple will starts to take the shape of something like a troll or naysayer rather than a legitimate defusal of engorged thinking regimes. Although, the very notion of brute forcing your way through life kind of brings to mind Popper's emphasis on falsifiability, and there is definitely a parallel in undermining over-thought through sheer persistence. I quite like the idea, don't take my post the wrong way, but it seems more like you are pointing toward the naturalistic will to endure, which I already mentioned by bringing up the conatus.
