It is literally porn. Even if de Sade has a point it is bogged down in a pond of cumshots. But is it entertaining? Yes. What did I get out of it? That sexual depravity wasn't simply a byproduct of modern entertainment industry.

Yes, it’s one of my favorite books. Just make sure to read the first version from 1787, it has a faster pace and doesn’t have porn like the 1791 version. Not that porn is a problem but de Sade is bad at writing it
