I've yet to find a campus novel that wasn't about everything BUT going to classes in shid. However, The Nix was pretty good in that regard. And it actually has more than one college plot going on at the same time because it jumps around time periods a lot/

Such a comfy novel. I can't help but to feel sad and pity for Pnin. For all his faults i do think he's genuinely a nice guy.

that's a good one, though it seems almost to have been written out of spite. i also liked "the human stain" by roth, though he makes us put up with his onanistic indulgences

Never went to college, but this one takes the cake for me. I can't remember a single instance of Gnossos Papadopoulis going to class.

Are there any that offer a more cynical view of campus life? I had a miserable college experience and would love to read something critical of it.
