This book is way better than 1984. Why doesn't it get any recognition?

BTW a thing people miss in 1984 is that the Gin being offered as a symbol of status is a deliberate insult in the context of Orwell's time. His grandparents were alive when the second Gin Act was passed which aimed at the heart of the poorest classes drinking. It's like if a modern novel called 2084 were to have the upper middle class drinking malt liquor and be all up their own assess about how sophisticated and privileged they are.
