It was written as a web serial and it shows, a lot of it has aged obnoxiously (for example, since it was written in 2015/2016, there’s a lot of focus on “omfg can you believe this Trump guy”) so it could stand to be edited down. I’d start with some of Scott Alexander’s essays and short stories and if you like them, then read it, but if not I’d skip it.
Decent fantasy novel but it would be hard to read today knowing that was born from the brain of an e/acc grifter and that the plot is designed to propagandize it
