>>25255487>mfw stuck with the first omnibus of ciaphas cain
gw is hilariously retarded ie the reason behind all of their dumb decisions
Because GW is managed by a bunch of absolute retards.

>>25255487They do reprint paperbacks from time to time, e.g. a few months ago they reprinted the Nagash omnibus which is from 2012.Hardbacks they don't reprint so that retards (me) will fomo and buy them.
I always held the belief that most 40k books, specially the more recent ones, arent quite meant to be read. The simplistic and easy to follow prose alongside constant repetition of names and items, episodic nature behind a ton of chapters and relativly hasty pace leads me to believe the ideal way to enjoy these books is just listening to them as an audiobook. It's also why they always come bundled with an audiobook version immediatly any time a new book is published and I have had a far more enjoyable time with these books as audio dramas instead of genuine pieces of literature due to how dry the prose is in genre fiction as a whole
Anyone read this one yet? Sounds mildly interesting, i've not read any gw novel since 2012 or so.

The only books I've been able to enjoy has been Chris Wright>Watchers of the throne>Lords of Silence>SunderingThey're very fun to read, they don't bog you down with details but focus more on the weirdness of the universe and lets you soak up the atmosphere. The way he starts most of his books with the aftermath of a loss, starting the story where the characters are picking up the pieces of their life or escaping from a threat, building up their strength to end off with a fun battle. It's a great way to lead an action oriented story. When I tried reading Storm of Iron which came highly recommended I got too bored to get through the first 5 chapters. Somehow makes a heated battle suck ass to read. It's like, if a line cook who was dissociating while in the middle of friday night rush hour describe his coworker's interpersonal problems, and predict oncoming disasters of the night. That's how these super human warriors were talking about a battle, and it fucking sucked. Know no fear (hate the tagline) was ok until you notice every ultramarine is the same person, aka the author; a guy who likes to chuckle a lot at dad jokes and try to talk like Captain Kirk. Very little imagination here, another story that was written based on a guy's game with his buddy. The writing during the action doesn't have any staying power.
