An Amazon review of Sun Tzu's "Art of War"
>>
This is my experience with all classic Chinese literature, it's all this wisdom teaching bullshit. Thank you, Master Ching Chong, but I don't really care about living a noble life.

Enjoy the 100,000,000 years in Naraka

holy based review
>>
i agree with the review but i would bump it up to maybe 4 stars.

This reminds me of some Russian satirical book. It's a supposed collection of aphorisms by a peasant philosopher or something but they're all just absurd or stupid or platitudinous. It's a parody of folk wisdom.

Can't remember what the thing is called. Anyone know of it?
>>
I confess I had the same snarky attitude when I read it the first time. Don't camp close to river blah blah. Not really relevant now, right? But that's not what it's about. Growing a little older, I went through it again, paying some more attention, and the book really appears like common sense to us now only because that guy (or those people) first determined how shit gets done and people around the world religiously followed those lessons for 2000 years.

Even today, you see wars go to shit when the leaders stop following Sun Tzu. Exactly as he wrote thousands of years ago. More than some guidebook, it's a scathingly accurate analysis of human nature, of mob mentality, which hasn't changed one bit in all this time.

The american mind, ladies and gentlemen

This has already been discussed either on lit or his. It's all basic stuff but not a lot actually put it in mind in real wars.

Why do I find the cheapest racist humor so fucking funny
>>
All off-site screencap posters should be permabanned and preferably dragged out to the streets and shot.

>follows Sun Tzu, does nothing, wins
>ignores Sun Tzu, fails against rice farmers, goat herders and pedo mullahs

Kozma Prutkov is the character

Sounds like a rip-off of the medieval french text Les Évangiles des quenouilles. Wouldn't be the first time Russians were unoriginal hacks copying the French (Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, etc.)

>I don't really care about living a noble life
We can tell, you racist bitch

>>25259236
Butthurt

That's what you get for buying midwit core kek
>>
>>25259239
Lmao he wasn't even racist
>chinsect
>bugman
>dog eater
>zipperhead
>gook
Any of these would have been way worse
The last two apply mostly to Koreans but that makes them even more offensive for a Chinaman

OK not heard of this one but might look it up. Most countries have some form of it I think.

The review literally says

so you don't need to get so triggered, you special little snowflake.

>literate nepobaby officer appointees need a SOPs in a numerically inferior small state

It's worthless without Dao in mind, and an edition with adequate notes; the meme here is The Human Terrain. Otherwise winning without fighting is vitiated by Clausewitz.

these phd generals thought they were going to collapse the persian empire with a campaign of assassinations and poisoning the wells until the ghost of saddam hussein rises up and invades iran with an army of kurds based in turkey

You're welcome. Did you read the stories in russian?
>>
>>25258988
isn’t that the point of the Art of War? I remember hearing that it was written for do-nothing royal brats who probably never seen blood before but are still required to lead armies
