Has anyone else on here read anything by him? Currently halfway through Days Between Stations and I'm mesmerized by the way he weaves different threads and motifs in this book. The characters aren't very deep, and the leaps between characters and actions are pretty wide, but the moments of lucidity and epiphany/transgression, when the disparate elements coalesce and foment is musical and dream-like. I read somewhere that people recommend reading his first 4-5 books as a series since characters, themes, motifs and details recur and develop or expand throughout. The closest experience I can think of is like watching Twin Peaks season 3 where small details and elements across distant spaces and dimensions are slowly united through the narrative through-line.
