Yes. Nana is prostitute and actress who has no quality other than being extremely beautiful (in vulgar way). "Venus in the gutter by the pavement side."
She is huge sensation in Paris becouse of her acting career. She is terrible actress with no skills (misremembers lines, cannot sing etc.) but when on stage she is always basically naked and has no problem with it.
She understands that people watch her plays becouse she is naked, but is too stupid to realise she has no other talent. As such she demands to be cast into serious roles in serious plays - when this happens, people think the tragedy she is in is supposed to be comedy and laugh at the serious scenes.

They filmed it with Ursula Andresss but firstly Ayesha is dark-haired and secondly she has to be super-captivating and charismatic. Ursula Andress has zero charisma. A pretty wheel but the hamster's dead. Ava could have done it.

TIM ROTH — STEERPIKE (GORMENGHAST)
