Would you consider it shitty if in a godzilla like kaiju story the big twist is that the monster, like a pile of writhing flesh, is humans? As in, God is real, the entire solar system has been wiped out three times before, and humans keep attempting to achieve immortality by altering themselves genetically and the core of the earth is made up of these humans who form a hivemind of sorts, and God keeps giving each generation of humanity a chance to try again and accept death, that it cannot embrace eternity if it's attached to this physical plane, and there are people who embrace it and the ones who don't get to repeat the cycle?I mean the whole idea that God would fuck up kinda beats the point of the story having this underlying christian message but still, this project is far away, most likely i will never write it, i just pluck ideas from the part of my brain being wasted in it for smaller things, so is THAT bit in particular stupid?
>>25270497I sometimes draw the characters, like kabardan, a superficially Muhammad -like figure that is moreso like king David, in that God gave him a mission, he fulfilled it, but he still fucked up, he conquered most of the planet but still failed to make his family into good people and his children would kill each other, and there was a whole thing with a deluge of fire where these ancient people went underground because Kabardan's empire disintegrated into civil war and god glassed their planet
>>25270497First of all, if the solar system had been wiped out, how come earth is made up by humans of previous cycles? Regardless, I don't think it's a particularly interesting concept anon. Even if you iron out the details, this cyclical existentialist horror is pretty overdone so it'd have to be very appropriate to the themes of the story and carefully set up to have any hope of working (unlikely).
>>25270497If it is unchristian, don't write a Christian story Is The a Backrooms a Christian setting? Is Five Nights At Freddy's a Christian game? No, but that's okayHell, Gygax was an evangelicalAlso, eternal cycles are. Aplyaed out trope. They're fine if you want it for the "vibes" but timeloops and reincarnation are a bit overdone at the moment in my opinion

>>25270560I dont plan on making it an infinite cycle, nor the cycles to be infinite. Thats more of an asian conception. If i wanted to hammer something into the audience its moreso that realization that evil comes from humans, that it is humans inflicting suffering upon each other, since the whole story would begin in a poor country very closely resembling 70s Mexico aesthetically but politically more like a strange combination of weimar germany and iraq.I by no means consider myself a good writer. I am an illustrator, I've studied illustration, so by the writing part ill lean in what ive know by experience rather than literature. Its just this bubble of thoughts that i feel like plucking specific things for projects
