Faulkner ran so McCarthy could run to a slightly lesser extent.
McShartmy is shart
>>25273381Absalom, Absalom! is way better, I don't know why The Sound and the Fury gets all the clap.
>>25273381Conrad ran so that Fagner would get a piggyback ride
>>25273381QRD on this book? Is it about my bowel movements?
>>25273381The older I get the more I like As I Lay Dying best. It's complex and versatile but he makes it seem so easy.
>>25273433I prefer Sound and Fury by a bit as I find it less monotonous but Absalom was also top tier
>>25273579It certainly is his funniest one
>>25273381Why do you say this? What I read of Faulkner was kind of shit and boring
>>25273804maybe anime and manga are more (You)
>>25273381I didn't understand this book
>>25273817No, I don't like those eitherImagine someone actually having their own taste instead of just liking what they're told is le important
>>25273892read it again
>>25274237maybe video games and wrestling are more (You)

>>25273381I'm about done with chapter 3 and I love it so far. First book of the kind that I read and I couldnt figure a thing out for the first hundred pages or so. Now I thinkg I've figured it out and just want to see how everything ends. Are other books by Faulkner this caliber and style ? >>25273433>>25273579I'm looking into these two next. One in particular out of these I should start with right after Sound and Fury ?
>this book is shit>ha! Jokes on you I was only pretending to be retarded.
>>25273381I recently read Absalom Absalom and it was fantastic. I went in expecting a parable of the Bible story of Absalom but while Sutpen gave me a feeling akin to King Solomon I did not really see any other characters parallel David or Absalom.Another thing is by the end I started asking why in the world does Shreve and to a lesser extent Quentin care so passionately about this family story. I know that they are in Sound and Fury too and can't shake that part of understanding them and their obsession is in there (which I have not read yet)
>>25276885>One in particular out of these I should start with right after Sound and Fury ?Absalom Absalom features Compton as a primary character and narrator if you liked in in S&F
>>25276043Two more things I don't engage with>>25276903basically this. but it was hard, like walking up a mountain or something so you're tricked into thinking it was great
