Anyone here subscribe to a decent quality scifi periodical? I mean something with sharp letters, quality paper, maybe even original artwork.

I bounce around between Analog and Asimov every few months. Whichever seems more interesting whenever I browse the mags. I'll occasionally read Lightspeed as I have a Kobo Plus account. The thing I don't like about Clarkesworld is that instead of collecting the best and unique Scifi, they blatantly aim to fill a diversity quota. Just look at the names on the cover of each issue. They reject 9/10 writers with original ideas and publish a Nigerian writing about what it's like to be a shrub.
I never heard of these. Qrd?
>>25278095Both Asimov and Analog are pretty common to find in print. B&N near me carries both. From what I can tell, Analog is more hard science fiction usually with a factual article thrown in, and Asimov is more literary science fiction, sometimes allowing borderline fantasy stories. Both are owned by the same company now. One plus for Analog, in print at least, is that most of the stories are formatted in double column. I've collected a few digital issues of Lightspeed that I got for free, but to be honest, I haven't gotten a chance to read them yet. As for any anthology though, don't expect to be satisfied cover to cover. Sometimes there are some stinkers. I'll actually sometimes use Claude to give me a 1-2 sentence synopsis for each story of each magazine when they come out. That way I'm less likely to waste my time or money.
