Books for a 22 year old man with blackpill fatigue who wants to achieve happiness despite what others say?
I am sick of my negative mentality and the fate I've created for myself.
Please recommend me any books that fits into these categories: whitepill, bloomer, clean living.
I'm also open to any books that are about greenpill / ecophilosophy, spirituality, and possibly some financial books to support my journey along the way.
Thank you all very much.

Fear and Trembling. I can't point to what did it, but it was instrumental in me dealing with depression. (Probably) nothing in it is going to make you think "oh everything is fine now!" but it transformed my inner life, somehow.
>>
>>25278802
Transforming my inner life is one of the things that I after, so I will check out your rec.
Thanks

Schelling, Rupert Sheldrake, and Rudolf Steiner. Saint Theresa de Avila. Psalms, noting the highs and lows.

Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, kinda.
>>
>>25278796
Any book on Epicureanism. It's the perfect philosophy for avoiding blackbill BS and prioritizing peace of mind.

Yes, I saved that Image a while back since, apart from relating to the guy in the image, I suspect myself of possibly having some schizoid pd traits that have led me to the path I am on now.

I should have specified that the pic is not related to the topic but, ironically, it was the most hopeful image I have saved.

I already have this on my reading list, but will probably bump it up now.
What exactly makes you say 'kinda' though?
>>
>>25278860
Is it true that one of the tenets of epicureanism is cultivating friendships?
I have a weird contradiction in my life where I will seek out friends, but then I will feel emotionally distant or irritated when I am around them before ultimately isolating myself.

I of course still seek a life of positivity and self-realization, but I fear that my path will depend upon finding that answer by myself without the guidance of friendships.

>>
>>25278883
Small spoiler but it gets to that point of what you're looking for by the end of the book but I wouldn't say most of it does prior to the end, as it's primarily about the journey the protagonist has through life with all its ups and downs leading up to that point.

Start working on the salvation of your soul. You do this by becoming a traditional Catholic. Attend Latin Mass. Start praying the Rosary. Become familiar with the central mysteries of the faith. Cultivate the Catholic Virtues and expunge the vices. Learn Catholic metaphysics, Catholic theology, and the economy of Salvation.
>>
>>25278937
I guess I understand that; Seeing the protagonist's journey and life experiences in order to understand how they achieved their realization at the end of the story.

Thank you for the explanation, I will possibly check it out within the next few days (finishing off some other books)
>>
>>25278834
>>25278854
Hello again, Is there any specific work from these authors that I should check out?

Also what is it it that ties them all together? Is there a overarching theme that connects the writing of these authors to the book of psalms, an underlying message perhaps?
>>

>whitepill, bloomer, clean living.
That's what you think you need. What you actually need is The Illuminati Papers by Robert Anton Wilson.

The basics of the early greeks is a good start, Epicurus or Seneca. Stoicism has some cool ideas.

What you probably want is to overcome lifes inherent nihilism and become the best version of yourself, an ubermensch.

Nietzsche has a lot of stuff to read, I think people usually start with Zarathustra. If you want similar vibes but in a novel, Dostoyevsky has interesting and deep characters who struggle in different ways.
>>
>>25278796
Unironically The Lord of the Rings. But when you wanna go deeper, read the gospels, particularly the books of Matthew and John. They’re short books. Just go into the gospels with an open mind without an expectation of being converted or what have you
>>
>>25278796
I know you asked for uplifting and positive but

Notes from the Underground by Dosto

You will hate the main character while also relating to him. This can help you identify and separate that part of yourself, become disgusted, and move on from these bad self sabotaging habits.
>>
>>25278834
Schelling is a guy I'd love to read but he sounds needlessly complicated. Steiner sounds more intuitive.

Wasn't baiting. You just have a hard time conceiving experiences of other people outside yourself. Its okay to live in a bubble and think everyone thinks, acts, talks, and lives like you do. But some people just remain immature their entire life. You are one of those people. Good luck.

The Dream of a Ridiculous Man

It's about a nihilistic man in his forties who plans to kill himself for have lived a bitter life, but then suddenly when walking down the street and yell and scares a little girl asking for his help he feels deeply bad about it and have a psychedelic dream about the human condition.

>Start working on the salvation of your soul.
* Jesus did it all, all to Him i owe, sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow
* so loved He the world that He gave us His Son, the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon recieves
* twas Grace that taught my heart to fear and Grace my fear relieved, how precious did that Grace appear the hour i first believed

A Voyage to Arcturus. Though, you probably won't like it and it won't give you a saccharine and flowery worldview nor justify your seeking happiness (which is just a sophisticated form of hedonistic pleasure anyway).
>>
>>25280413
I fail to see the appeal of these platitudes and the demand that people just stop thinking and live more like mindless animals.
>>
OP here.
I just wanted to specify that by "achieve happiness" I meant intrinsic happiness through self fulfillment and achieving long term goals; books that will rewire my negative 'abused dog' defeatist mindset and help me overcome the abnormalities of the d2/d3 dopamine receptors in my brain through brainwashing and willpower.

Please don't recommend me any books that are hedonistic or promote consumerism / materialism, as those forms of 'happiness' are superficial and short-lived.

Thanks again.

On The Tragic - By Peter Wessel Zapffe.
On the Tragic is a philosophical work by Peter Wessel Zapffe that explores tragedy not as a literary genre, but as a biological and existential condition. Drawing on biology, psychology, and existential philosophy, Zapffe argues that humans possess an overdeveloped consciousness that renders them maladapted to life, generating internal contradictions and existential tension.

any opposite books? Books to really push me over the edge and make Me end myself? I really want to do it but I'm such a pussy. I have nothing to hope for and I don't care about anyone in my life that id leave behind

>>

>Fear and Trembling
you mean the book that immediately tells you everything is so cheap anyone can have it?
>>
>>25281825
Read the cut-up trilogy but make sure to do so with evil desires. You will probably murder a homosexual halfway through The Soft Machine but most certainly at the end
>>
>>25281703
The cut-up trilogy and no i am not joking. Skip around if you like its not all that strict in order, skip the gay ayahuasca orgies as needed. This trilogy changed my life and is specifically meant to be a cure for the ersatz bullshit of the world (direct quote from chapter 2 of Nova Express, you can just start with that book actually its the least gay)
>>
>>25282189
NTA well it didn't work for me and I'm not intellectual at all. I don't live in some idyllic place
>>
>>25282207
>the least gay.
The gayest thing I have ever read was The Sluts by Dennis Cooper, and that was about a crazy gay gigolo.
How does this trilogy compare?
>>
>>25278802
If you mean you converted to Christianity, that's not going to work for most people.
>>
>>25278944
Could you please go further into detail on what you mean by 'the central mysteries of the faith', Catholic metaphysics, Catholic theology, and Economy of Salvation?
And does it have to be Catholic over Eastern Orthodox? Why?

Sorry if this sounds sarcastic, I am genuinely would like to know more since I did try going to church in my late teens and early twenties, but was bombarded with "progressive thought", and considered looking into Eastern Orthodox Church as a way to get away from the progressive churches. Thanks.
>>
>>25281862
Thanks. I was just seeing some replies about hedonism and wanted to clear things up.
