THE HOLY BIBLE IS SACRED SCRIPTURE, NOT LITERATURE.LITERATURE IS THE ART OF REPRESENTATION THROUGH LANGUAGE: LITERATURE IS FICTION.

>>25281533Tangential but the Temple of Kukulcan at Chichen Itza is such a normie (or as the kids say these days) LARPer pick for a Mesoamerican wonder of the worldThere's plenty of larger Mesoamerican pyramids, as well as more impressive structures from an engineering standpoint, and even some which are more aesthetically pleasing then it, which is really the only reason I can think of it was picked: Because it is picturesque, and even that is in part due to a lot of restoration work done on the structure, some of which is speculative and may not reflect it's original appearance (of course they also didn't go all the way and paint it, because god forbid we restore or recreate the plaster, paint, and murals Mesoamerican architecture had in their heyday)As good or better picks:>Pyramid of the Sun and Moon at Teotihuacan: Much larger, the Sun pyramid being 60-70m tall>Tonina acropolis: Much larger, 60-70m high, plus much more voluminous/wide, a bit more structurally complex due to having substructures and multiple branching temples/platforms,>Great Pyramid of Cholula: Much larger, 60-70m high, plus much more voluminous/wide (actually being the single largest human monument in the world by volume), is picturesque from having a still-in-use colonial era church on top>La Danta acropolis at El Mirador: Much larger, 60-70m high, plus much more voluminous/wide, a bit more structurally complex due to having substructures and multiple branching temples/platforms>Feathered Serpent Temple at Teotihuacan: I'm not actually sure how tall this is, but I don't think it's too disimilar from the Kukulcan temple, and the Teotihuacano one has a gorgeous intact sculptural facade>Tons of structures at Tikal: Plenty are taller then the Kukulcan temple, for example Temple IV at Tikal is 60-70m tall. The Central, North etc Acropolis are more architecturally complex with substructures and multiple branching temples/platforms, some even having stacked rooms/floors, etc. Some of these were also adjacent to giant resevoir pools which connected to a network of channels, dams etc that provided water management across the city center and even into outlying suburbs>Texcotzinco: Rather then a pyramid or acropolis with pyramid components/platform bases, this is a royal estate/retreat that had a palace, shrines, botanical gardens etc cut into a large hill/small mountain, with a complex series of aqueducts (some 5-8+ miles long, at some points raised 150 feet above the ground), channels, pools, and artificial waterfalls to deliver water to the palace grounds, shrines, baths, and gardens. Extremely cool engineering, but there's no standout intact structures left today aside from a few of the aqueduct channels and pools And these are just structures we have ruins of today, there's plenty that have no or only a little existing ruins left
