It's one of the better series BL has put out but don't expect high literature. Go into it as it was meant to be experienced, low effort fun, and you'll have a good time with it I think.
People shit on BL in general because it isn't Citizen Kane but if you like 40k just enjoy it for what it is. They're fun books.

There are thousands of inhabited planets in the galaxy - but every world is a hive-world or agri-world or some other copypasted temu-world

The brave Space Marines and Imperial Guard must face down a myriad of dangerous foes - well really just orks, tyranids and chaos over and over again because we can't have them fight bad guys we don't have models for

No two Space Marine chapters are the same - well they wear the same armor and have the same units but some chapters like bikes and others like flamethrowers!

Chaos is a scary force that slowly corrupts the greatest heroes - if you so much as pick up a cursed sword or book your soul is damned forever

Warhammer has the deepest lore of any sci-fi setting - just pay no attention to the huge amount of plagiarism just behind the curtain!
