>>25285525Don’t worry about that just start reading classic children’s novels and, for when you don’t understand a word, get a proper dictionary (there’s four or five of them). Do this and be voracious about it and you’ll catch up to an adult level of literacy and comprehension in a couple years. And read print media it’s supposed to be at an 11yo level.

I wish there was a chart showing key books for enrichment or to improve your thinking that isn't taken over by /pol/ or /x/ I appreciate classic literature but I also want to focus on just being better. It feels hopeless. Without a classical education I feel like it would take decades of constant study to even be halfway as smart as an 1800s rich child
>>25285525Studying the Trivium is mostly a /lit/ meme. There's some value to studying logic, but it's mostly aesthetic, and if you're trying to improve your reading the Trivium won't help you much. Just read what you think sounds interesting (fiction, poetry, plays, it doesn't matter) with a dictionary at hand and put your phone in another room if you can
>>25285714This isn't just about knowing words. It's about how to think about the reading. There's something educated people are doing that I'm not but I don't know what it is
