Have you ever stolen a book? They're so expensive nowadays
>>25286212I stole this book, then someone stole it from me.
>>25286212Yes I stole some beccket plays from a used books store since I thought they were waaay overpriced considering the girth of the volume. It wasn't worth stealing tbdesu
>>25286237>wasn't worth stealing tbdesuBeckett is good and worth stealing Which plays were they? Why didn't you like them?
>>25286212if online piracy counts as stealing, then most of my books are stolen
>>25286222lmao, too funny, I love you guys
>>25286222My dad was a prison guard and he stole this from the prison library for me because he saw me watching a documentary about him when I was 13 or so. I still have it somewhere but I can't find it. While looking, I did find a copy of the Obama book Dreams From My Father stolen from the jail with jail stamps all over it
>>25286212I use annas archive and audiobay exclusivly for ebooks and audiobooks. I have never stolen a physical books.
My W.H Auden poetry collection is semi-stolen. Tried to check it out but couldn't so I went to the librarian to try a check it out but she couldn't find it on the system. So she told me to "bring it back when your done with it." still not done with it and it's been 4 years.
>>25286212>You ever stolen a book? No. Have had many stolen from me over the years. Mostly gaming related tomes that I have loaned out and the borrower never returned. One was pretty weird though. I loaned a copy of Uzamaki to a co-worker. They loved it and their son loved it, so they just straight up said "I'm not giving it back to you because my son wants it." Single mom's are a fucking cancer.
$100 is expensive? lol

>>25286212>stealing booksnot the usual suspects
>>25286212I stole the return of the mummy goosebumps book when I was a small child in the 90s and my mom made me return it when she found out
>>25286212yeah, in college. Slipped a 20 dollar used book with questionable stains on the cover, under my shirt. 2005 or so. I did not get caught, but when i graduated and got a good job as a tech writer. Yeah the guy that tells you to select via mouse the right click button. That guy. Minumum wage plus resume building assets, and exposure to editors etc. After a few years, I saw the book in my donation pile and remembered I stole it in college. So I made it right. Donated to a scholorship fund for writers. $1k every year or so. I even got my name on some brass plate celebrating writers on the humanities building. On a side note, my the sandbox general went 404 while writing the next post. Might have to re-think the universe setup. Prune was a thing in the universe, but sucks that the thread died. Some showed interest. It will be back, and those characters are in limbo. Threads go 404. Any idea how to work this into a universe? Frustrating that I have charted out 4 plot points-including media, and finished a scene ready to post, to no avail.HALP? SOS
stop posting ai generated comics you brown jizzstain
didnt read, btw.
>>25287176Is it true what they say about Gambian girls?
>>25286212Found a book I've wanted to read for a while at an AirBnB. Debated it from a while, then nicked it because it was an old copy and probably read by now.
>>25286212Only through online piracy. What retard would risk jail over stealing physical books from B&N when you can just read that shit online for little to no risk?
>>25287176Almost certainly a LARP but I want to believe there's an actual Gambian nigga discussing niche classical and art-historical texts on /lit/
>>25286212is this like stealing sunscreen
>>25286212i cant imagine stealing a book instead of coming up with reasons not to read it. the only book that matters, everyone wants to give you a copy for free if they think they can interpolate one into your belongings
They’re quite expensive, yes, but you can usually cut the price tag by 70% if you decide to buy secondhand paperback books. I don’t see a reason to steal when that’s always available.
