Obviously the answer is “loads”. But of all druggie/alkie writing my favorite is Jack London’s John Barleycorn. He was an alcoholic who died at 40 but he was smart enough to interrogate the deathly logic of heavy drinking, which he calls ‘white logic’. It’s a good, honest, intelligent book about substance abuse.
