Have you guys ever read a book that was written so realistically and vividly that after you read it, reflecting back on the book felt like reflecting back on one of your own memories? What was the book?

Some novels by a Japanese horror writer named Otsuichi. They were sorrowfully adventurous in a way that made me feel as if I was part of the experience. In contrast for example a Goosebumps book never gets you personally invested no matter how good they are; it always feels like something you witness, not weather.

The Sluts by Dennis Cooper. I recall reading the book like I recall reading KiwiFarms posts. It's written in forum posts, and I've spent a long time on forums.

I wonder if these NPC's can even recall the visuals of their dreams. What a sad existance.
