I wonder if today English is a sort of “sleeping giant” of language. Many of us here know the capacity for english to convey profound thought, but the internet (yes here too, here especially) is overwhelmed by the lowest applications of english. Id like to think it could improve. Maybe a Divine Comedy for a new era could put that in motion. But its form would necessarily be very different, to speak to the troubled and cynical base of today. Just a thought.
