>Vishnu Mohammed
>Not the bees’ neat industry or the clean rasp of cutlass on vine, but a belly sound – as if the earth swallows a shout and holds it there
> No fan, no bulb, no hum – only the thin light slipping between warped boards and the breath of hills holding their heat like a secret
> The grove remembered. / The house remembered. / The boy remembered.
>Author uses AI generated headshot
>>
which name is the fake name?
Vishnu Mohammed or Jammir Nazzir?
>>
>>25287849
Jamir Nazir is the guy who submitted it. He's an East Indian boomer from Trinidad that posts about AI all day. The AI named the character Vishnu Mohammed.

>End up with a bunch of AI slop
lol

Is granta good? I've never heard of it and from your picture it looks like they let women judge it.

It reads a lot like AI. I don't know how nobody caught it.
>>
>>25287875
Bottom right is cute. Bottom middle looks bro.
>>
>>25287876
It's one of the most prestigious literary magazines on the planet.

>>
>>25287906
>>25287912
It doesn't look very prestigious
>>25287875
Most of these headshots are blacks and browns and more than half women :/ so where does it get its prestige from?
>>
>>25287906
not anymore lmao
>>
Granta is not the organizer of the contest nor are they the judges. They just have an agreement with Commonwealth to publish their prizewinners.
>>
>>25287842
embarrassing for EVERYONE involved
>>
i see litards are still arguing about the future and relevance of their precious echo chamber
>>
They should be happy.
They no longer have to work as weiters anymore, but AI can now do the work for them.
Now they will have time to do what they really wanted like being a plumber or working in the nursing and hospitality industry.

I don't know how you can look at shit like this and not see clear cut discrimination against white men.

what are you talking about they got a white guy right here

AI will be the death of traditional publishing. Every writer is going to be forced to self-publish and the only metric for "success" will be raw sales. Naturally this means slop (whether human generated or AI generated) will dominate even more than it already does, but it also means that good writers whose style/subject matter/demographic is rejected by traditional publishers might be able to find a niche for themselves that they couldn't before.
>>
>>25287850
>promote brownoids
>get jeeted by ai slop
It’s like poetry, it rhymes. No wait poetry doesn’t rhyme.
>>
>>25288185
Success in writing is 100% marketing
>>
>>25288582
not when reading becomes unpopular, the point that you retards don't seem to understand is that ai doesn't need to be good at writing, it just needs to be good at making something else, then readers will abandon books for that like they did for video games, and this is especially so when college is becoming unpopular, gen alpha can't even read at a basic level, this is plato's moment of complaining about memory vs writing, now its writing vs whatever ai comes up with, it's been a good 2000 yrs
>>
This is particularly vindicating because I've always hated magical realism and thought it basically reads like GPT avant la lettre
>>
>>25288156
Do you know what a commonwealth is? It's nigger countries Britain used to own...so why are you surprised the COMMONWEALTH PRIZE has a bunch of NIGGERS from the Caribbean and Africa and India in it?
>>
>>25288625
It's also Canada and Australia and New Zealand…
>>
>>25287851
It's kinda funny to think about it this way: the materialistic world view will fall deeper into the pit of recursion but will adamantly demand it, refusing to pull its head out of its own arse.
They will move themselves and their bureaucracy to the data centers, claim they have better worlds (but it's all slop), form fake universes without any observers- finally, the triumph of objective, deterministic and materialistic dialectic has been reached; the Schrödinger's mouse utopia.
>>
>>25288706
Larp larp larp sahur
>>
>>25288711
Go and become an AI zombie. I'm sure you'll experience some level of character growth from some of the AI slop. Oh wait.. You'll join it in its recursion loop, and regress instead. How could this happen?! Matter over mind!
>>
>>25288687
4/25 are white. They’re probably over represented all things considered. This is the problem with going down this racial quota line of inquiry, it’s fucking stupid.
What you need to do is go find all the authors who weren’t nominated
>>
>>25287842
Unironically good for the culture. If homogenous AI slop and post-colonial MFA slop are converging, then the only way to stand out will be to embrace processes that are orthogonal to that trajectory. My hope is that we start to see more small, independent presses putting out more experimental (but undeniably human) material. We’re already seeing it with companies like Inside The Castle or 11:11 Press. I don’t even think it’s a case of AI vs human writing- there are ways that AI can be utilised without diminishing the authors intentionality, it just has to make sense w/r/t both the form and content of the work.

This is proof evolution can't be real because society is ending up more dysgenic.
>>
>>25289122
Good point
>>
It's crazy to think that up until 5 years ago, we never had to doubt that authenticity of a piece of text. And now we can never look at a text with the same innocent eyes again.
>>
>>25287842
>Vishnu Mohammed
fucker, that name made me lol uncontrollably for like 10 seconds
>>
>>25289150
If evolution were real every chick should be a 10/10 smoke show and every guy should be a Gigachad with Gorilla tier test levels. Or, if survival needs more, they should all be smart.

But both attractive and smart people don't breed much. Instead, the key trait for reproduction might be impulsiveness or stupidity. This is why devolution since Adam makes more sense. We're literally decaying.
>>
>>25289476
>>25289150
your fundamental point is based on a misunderstanding about "evolution"
there is no perfect "end of history" for evolution, and your notion of "devolution" and "dysgenic" is just one path evolution can take.
>>
>>25289508

Looks like one of the other submissions was also AI slop and another used it extensively. I wonder if the judges were outsourcing the judging to Claude, as they got 8000 entries.

I can kinda understand an author using AI to get ahead and get attention, but using AI for the judging is mind-boggling.
>>
They're also doing their investigation with Claude
https://lunch.publishersmarketplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Rausing-Statement.pdf
We're entering the slopocalypse. Although the fact that everything is being attributed to "Claude" rather than "ChatGPT" or "AI" is triggering my astroturf senses.

>>25290002
Just wait til they roll out AI courts with AI juries. We've only just begun the fun. You ever eaten foodstuffs by Sodexo?
