I read maybe 50 books in my life and I have 35 yo. 2 years seems fair. I know a have to
write and write, do I need to read more books? or only writing is enough? I take whatever advice you have. Spanish is my first language, don't focus in my bad english. I'm a /pol/ user so I'm want to write about
west decline and woman/man relation

Don't read bad books. Also go out a lot and experience the ups and downs of life. Or sublimate your lust o algo

>Don't read bad books.
That's kind of misguided. Pulp fiction isn't a cognitohazard. You should (and inevitably will) read bad books. You just need to read books critically, compare them among each other, and consider how they could have been done better in various respects as you read them, how a different book you've read may have done a similar thing better. In some cases you will determine that it would have been better if this book never was written, that's a necessary process of elimination in deciding what you yourself want to write. Get out of your comfort zone, read all sorts of stuff you would not normally be interested in.

As for that other part, 'write what you know' is kind of a miserable writing class advice, but it's a place to start. Some of the better writers of history had a menial job, and just wrote about the normal people they met at work, which were not 'normal' at all.
Finally, when you first write something and submit it to a serious person, prepare to have it sent back with them refusing to read it until you format the text properly. This is not an insult, this is normal.
