DSA are doing the tea party playbook but from the left, they want to take over the democrat party, if they can get that done then they also need a trump like figure who will run as president. Trump hijacked the GOP, and DSA are trying to hijack the democratic party. Scandinavian style dem socialism is probably the farthest left people would be willing to realistically vote for

a lot of what is happening is because the cold war boomer generation is dying off and the post 2008 millennial and zoomer generation are taking over.

The post trump world will be pretty interesting, trump is the last gasp of the boomer generation. after him it will be hyper online millennial politicians like vance and AOC and mamdani

Trauma Healing Seminar
What is Trauma?
Trauma is the resultant state that occurs when our bodies are overwhelmed. Signs of being in this state are difficulties relaxing, excessive shyness, a lack of energy, among others.
When trauma symptoms become deeply embedded (chronic) resolving them can take a lot of time and energy [Waking the Tiger, Ch. 4]. The nature of my progress has been difficult to discern. For instance, at times I had what I perceived as a huge breakthrough, only to go back to where I started days later. The frustration I then had and the ensuing attempts to "get back to where I just was" ended up keeping myself stuck. What I have found is that progress is subtle. I have to remind myself the changes are subtle and to keep trying to gain subtle changes, and not aim for huge breakthroughs. Huge breakthroughs will come but my attitude has to be correct. Trying to go "all in", and really "make something happen now" using my willpower has been a complete disastrous approach. Not trying at all doesn't work either.
The attitude that is working is to not make a big deal out of this whole ordeal, not to be worried or freaked out. Almost not caring about my results. To just relax and let the sensations come up and run their course. Most important is to not be tempted to do anything about the sensations that come up. Do nothing about them, do not even focus too much on them, and don't care much. This relaxed attitude towards the whole thing creates the space for healing. Staying here and spending time with myself is moving me forward in time. This is something I am having to set time for everyday, as well as resisting the pull towards keeping busy too much.

You know how when you are in crowds, you usually can only catch fragments of sentences rather than whole thoughts? My mental background noise is like that. Sometimes contextless half-sentences just randomly pass my consciousness by. For some reason they're usually in English, too.

3 and a half years ago I moved to a different country to escape the weather, retarded housing market and a few other things.
Now I'm planning on returning. The housing issue is solved since I have enough money to buy a house now.

It did strike me that maybe I'll never be fully satisfied wherever I am. I'm forever stuck between two countries, being of two ethnicities.
You could see this as a problem, grass always being greener.
But I think I can ride this out. Every 5 years or so move. Never getting bored of one country. Now this is made more difficult because I have a wife and kids. But they are also of the two ethnicities so maybe this is what I'll do.

>>
>>25381672
About 77% are Americans/Canadians.
This has the shitty effect that the island caters to their wants. So one thing I very much dislike here is how car focused it is here. If you don't have a car good luck with your life. Shopping? Oh you do that at the strip mall! 4/5 shitty stores at the side of the road. You really don't walk here. They want to revive the city but certain people are hoarding the building in the center. Meaning they'd rather let it rot and decay than sell it out, rent it out or fix it up themselves.

So the good weather you really only enjoy on the beach or at home. Anywhere else it's car time baby

Dived out of youthful illusions into adulthood pretty roughly at the age of 24. Not having a real career going on was pretty rough in itself and once I fixed that I thought things were gonna go smooth from now on. Suddenly I have no friends anymore and the ones I had were youth acquaintances who only existed during the days everyone my age was doing parties and going to clubs.

I have a lot of good ideas but the reason something like that would go over people’s heads is because you have to know the actual quote it’s referencing and parodying, and unless you spell it out for the audience- EVEN IF they do know they quote, they won’t get it. So my kind of humor mostly doesn’t work for that platform.

I've thought a lot about when I was a teenager and had a sort of "existential crisis" from which I've never fully recovered. It's weird that we take this concept of a teenager having an "existential crisis" lightly, because every person I've known who's had this experience just kind of drifted away from being a normal person and never returned to that baseline. Including Elon Musk. Which is curious if you think about it, because Elon frames his existential crisis in very different terms from most people. Like if you ask the average guy about his existential crisis, he'll just go like, "Oh I never found an answer. Life is meaningless and you have to find the meaning yourself" or something. Elon very explicitly found an answer to his existential crisis, and has steered his life in perfect alignment with that conclusion for decades.

But I never actually "solved" my existential crisis, and neither did most people. All the adults just told us, "Go read Camus!", and when that didn't help, we were left to come up with our own answer which doubles as a coping mechanism, and that went on to decide the course of our lives. I think it would be a total mistake to look at Elon's existential crisis and think, "Oh, he just really likes to build rockets". His mission to make humanity an inter-planetary species is equivalent to a religious quest. It consumes his entire life. But I'm not here to gas Elon up, and I don't actually think he's special. I think at any time, if you decided you were truly ready, you could adopt the same solution that Elon had to his existential crisis, in the same way that you can convert to a religion. But you don't, because real change is scary, it's fucking terrifying. Real change looks nothing like to-do lists or Pomodoro timers. It looks like ego death, like the shattering of who you are now to be rebuilt into something new entirely.

People think one day it will be easy. One day, they'll just meditate enough and watch enough Steve Jobs videos, and then a smooth warm current of change will wash over them as they upgrade to "Me 2.0". The horrifying truth is that you could change right now. Like right now. All of the motivational shit, the self-help, all of it's fake. Real change will feel like death.
>>
>>25382045

I think 0.01% of females aren't actually humans but a species from another planet. I'm currently investigating this hypothesis.
>>
>>25382059
Because for me, solving the existential crisis meant finding a solution to suffering. My solution drastically reduced how much I suffer in life, but it also eliminated most of the highs, and I've learned that what was needed was never a cure for suffering to begin with.

So Utopia was written in 1516. The first major conquistas on the American mainland didn't happen before the 1530s. It is plausible that this American island the traveller talks about actually existed. Considering how detailed the description of the Utopians and their government is it can't be all made up.
>>
>>25382189
The book says that the Utopians, during war, hire the Zapolites as mercenaries who live on the American mainland 500 miles away from the island. The similarity of the name with the actually existing Zapotecas makes for serious histioricity. I will dive into this hypothesis with scientific rigour.

I am beginning to sincerely suspect and deeply worry that Asians, such as myself, are wholly incapable of understanding poetry. I read 50 pages of this Wallace Stevens "Selected Poems" book earlier and, outside of the poems I had studied beforehand with secondary resources, like "Emperor of Ice-Cream" and "Anecdote of the Jar" and "The Snow Man", I genuinely did not understand a lick. I internally vocalized every word, I mentally envisioned every image, I conceptualized every presented idea, and yet, the actual meaning of the words, line, and verse, I was left with an impenetrable void.

I am not giving up yet, but man, this sucks.

If it makes you feel better I am 90+% white (well only ~60% according to Benjamin Franklin) and I don't get most poetry. Or rather, even if I "get it" it doesn't "speak to me". I thought I hated it entirely until I found some very specific poems I liked (some of Kipling's stuff, RS Thomas, *some* passages from Shakespeare, others I now forget).

I do think you all (Asians) have some different emotional patterns though, nothing to be ashamed of at all. Every branch of the human patrimony has something wonderful to offer.

I wish I was a Mexican American man who was 35 years old and living in his parents' house in Wisconsin, specifically in a small town like Sheboygan or maybe Green Bay where everyone knows each other and the winters are brutal but you just deal with it because that's what you do, and I'd have my own room in the basement with wood paneling on the walls that's been there since 1987 and a little window up near the ceiling where I can see people's feet walking past on the sidewalk and I'd know exactly whose feet they are because I've lived here my whole life, and my mom would call down the stairs in Spanish to tell me dinner is ready and I'd come up and there'd be homemade tortillas and carne asada and my dad would be watching the Packers game on the same TV he's had since 2003 that still works fine so why replace it, and after dinner I'd help him work on his old Chevy truck in the garage and he'd tell me stories about growing up in Texas that I've heard a hundred times but I never get tired of them, and on Fridays I go to the same bar I've been going to since I turned 21 and the bartender knows my order without me having to say it and there's always someone there I went to high school with and we talk about the same three things every time but it never gets old because it's comforting, and I don't feel guilty about still living at home because my parents are getting older and they need help around the house and honestly I like the company and my mom still does my laundry even though I tell her she doesn't have to and she just says it's easier if she does it and I let her because it makes her happy, and I work at the local auto parts store and I've been there twelve years and my boss already told me I'll be manager when he retires in three years and that's fine with me, I don't need some big career I just want to be useful and go home and watch the game and pet my dog, and sometimes I think about what it would be like to live somewhere else but then I look around at the snow falling on the quiet streets and the lights on in all the houses where people I've known my whole life are doing the same thing they always do and I think nah, this is enough, this is more than enough actually.

I used to think indian art or buddhist philosophy were cool, but nowadays I can't unsee them being indian. That might sound strange on the surface, but until india got as big as it did in the online world and the physical one as well, it was just this distant, vague, brown and faceless blob with funky art and a language that could not stop creating words that you had to read three times before you got a handle on how they were supposed to be pronounced.

The mystique and the cool factor of almost all cultures depend on your ability to observe them in an indirect manner from a healthy distance. I imagine orientals feel much the same about the occident. Imagine being an oriental nerd obsessed with Renaissance Italy or Tolstoy or Ancient Greece or whatever and then having to witness something as bizarre as these norf FC-ass soccer matches in Europe.

I love bluebell icecream. Not just the product itself but the stubborn insistence on old 90s(2000s?) packaging design, unchanged since my childhood. If they can hold on just a bit longer it will transcend datedness and become charming and unique to more than just those with an attachment to it. I hope they do it.

Yknow in my long voyages surfing the internet throughout the years I dont think I have ever come across a subset group of fat people who pride themselves on their fatness. With a hierarchy where fat gives might and makes right. A group of people that sneer and mock anyone below a certain bmi. Sure there is some sexual deviants around that thing the fatter the better, but this community I picture wouldnt be sexual in nature.
I know in ancient China a corpulent body was a status symbol, an evident display of wealth but alas not the goal itself. What I got in mind is something that prices extra adipose tissue as a token of superiority for the sake of itself.
>>
>>25382588
This nearly existed in some parts of the tumblrite fat acceptance scene, they had fatness levels where the 600+ pounders were called "infinifats", but at that point you're guaranteed to die so early that it's hard to keep a movement going. Its leaders dying in their 30s is the main reason fat acceptance never became as big as BLM or tranny stuff imo, even though the target population is an order of magnitude larger.

Now thats interesting. Never really dived into the containment zone known as tumblr so it's not surprising I would have missed that. Even less surprising is that a group devoted to an abstract form of self-destruction would collapse under its own weight, in a manner of speaking.
Well in any case, thankfully drugs such as ozempic has entered the scene, so they can easily shed their weight instead of reshaping their mind to fit reality.

The ultimate extent of all my political considerations is to enhance the advantage of the Catholic Church. Because I believe the Church is what it claims to be, and all that it teaches is true, I seek as best I can to enhance its prestige, increase its freedom, and dismantle its enemies.

Obviously I'm not in a position to effect change on a large scale yet. But if that changes, I will continue to act primarily for the Church's welfare. If I could overthrow governments that got in the Church's way, I would. If I could dismantle intelligence services that spy on and infiltrate the Church, I would. If I could remove leaders from power who espouse policies detrimental to the Church's operations, I would.

Everything about my political considerations is in the service of enhancing the power, prestige, and freedom of my religion. To me the logic of this is inescapable. If it's all real, if everything the Church asserts about itself and God is true, then why shouldn't all politics, everywhere, be made to knuckle under to that Truth?

> Held back by a natural repugnance, the Hamites had perhaps for some time resisted the mixing that mingled their blood with that of their black subjects. There was no lack of sound reasons for maintaining this separation between conquerors and conquered, and the consequences of laxity were glaringly obvious. A father’s pride could hardly have been flattered to find no trace of white features in his mulatto offspring. Yet the pull of the senses had triumphed over this aversion—as it always does—resulting in a mixed-race population that was more alluring than the original indigenous inhabitants; while presenting physical temptations far stronger than those to which the Hamites had succumbed, this new population offered the prospect of outcomes that were, ultimately, far less repugnant.

Critical thinking has been broadly outsourced to realists, but since they're pragmatic and solution oriented, they arent allowed to discuss the topic anywhere public, panopticon style, and it's causing the fundamental upheaval of discourse as the people in power have effectively pruned dissident from their purview, but not reality at all.

> When the Semites, having descended from their mountains, appeared—two thousand years before Christ (1)—amidst Hamitic society, and even subjected it in Lower Chaldea (2) to a dynasty of their own blood, the new white principles introduced into the masses were bound to regenerate—and indeed did regenerate—the nations into which they were infused. Yet their role was not entirely active. They arrived among a mixed-race and cowardly people, not among barbarians. They could have destroyed everything had they chosen to act as brutal masters.

The Semites, though superior to the black Hamites, were nevertheless no match for the newcomers. While less permeated by Melanion admixtures than the descendants of Nimrod, they were nonetheless significantly affected, having abandoned the language of the whites in favor of the system born of the union between its remnants and the dialects of the blacks—a system known to us by the highly debatable name of "Semitic."

You're using the greater than sign wrong.

As an adult I get why there are people like Bill Gates who just work their entire lives even after they're rich. When I get off work I just don't give a fuck about anything nowadays
>>
This place really is empty tonight, huh. As I thought. It's a bunch of 30 year olds with generic lives who come here to vent.
>>

I just got Total War: PHARAOH DYNASTIES and the DLC Total War: PHARAOH DYNASTIES - Blood & Sand on GOG ($8 and $3 respectively). I'm going to go play them now, so I won't be here to chat.

I want to do July 4th surrealism associating ‘Twilight’s Last Gleaming’ with ‘Twilight of the Gods’ I mean don’t you think there’s something about this last cataclysmic dying whimper? Like Twilight’s Last Gleaming occurs at the end of time like some final last grasp from hell’s heart losing the final battle

50 Cent Blood on the Sand DLC?
>>
*Kent Brockman reports*
What do YOU do with a drunken sailor? One Florida Judge advises the death penalty, to a ship’s captain who had fallen asleep at the wheel costing the lives of 18 crewman and dock workers, and endangering hundreds more.

Everything is completely meaningless. Music, literature, poetry, mathematics, science, religion… all utterly prosaic and boring. You think something is interesting, learn something about it, then realize how inane it really is.
>>
>>25384076
What are you looking for in these things? If you don’t go in with a prerogative and just learn the raw math of something, it can seem inane. But there are further dimensions to these things (you really think you understand music if you just find it boring?) okay lets talk music, pal what’s so inane about that

Works that are about what they are
The Wizard of Oz - a special effects movie about special effects
AC/DC - an electric guitar band about the electric guitar
Help me populate this list

Since age 16 life feels like a video game where you already beat the main story so now you're just wandering around the empty map, staring at all the NPCs who do the same stuff every time you see them, who say the same lines. You're so bored that you come up with random goals to pursue, and while you're chasing them it's kinda fun. But then the goal ends and you realize how empty it all is, so you just get another goal and do it again

Do girls like long nose hairs or short nose hairs?

Your guy?

If they're a bunch of nerds, prison gayness.

Just got back from my town's 4th of July celebration. I was probably one of the only jamokes that went there alone. Oh well, the fireworks were cool, though I didn't bother staying around for the finale due to general boredom.

Isn't this the modus operandi of the Jesuits? Look where that got them.
>>
Decided to skip going out to see the 4th of july fireworks and avoid being one of a handful of loners at an event that is full of families in favor of staying inside listening to Grouper and being gloomy

You’re no fun. You couldn’t even write some scathing prose about it?
>>
>>25384123
Actually, none of them were nerds. I was the only 1 who was. 4 or maybe 5 of my friends in my childhood tried to do gay things with me. 2 were just complete degenerates who were the bullies in school and would kill animals for fun, 1 was my black friend who was like a stereotypical black person, and another was the cool kid in school who had the hottest girlfriend and they would do things in front of me but when we were alone once he tried to start humping me but I pushed him away.

I don't really have any fierce social criticisms about the whole thing, only that it was a tad surreal seeing how normies celebrate things. I'm used to my fun being mostly illegal, but I also didn't feel like shitting up the thread with some long-winded diatribe about American culture's fascination with turkey legs and explosions.
>>
>>25384148
Why not?
>>
someone make a new thread tho
>>
>>25384151
What thread?
>>
>>25384076
Oh, one untouched by the 'tism? Rare in these parts. Every hobby is fathomless mastery.

>>25384046
Well, yeah? Isnt that the 4chorks demographic? We a bunch of surly oldfags with realish lives, and random epochs of periodic shitppsting. Basically, if you're here you're wither a borderline polymath retard, some sort of lolcow, or an edgelord of various levels of disagreeableness.

>>25384056
Hell yeah, I've been doing Gundam Breaker 4 and it has consumed me.

Partly because I don't have anything to loosen the writing gears, and partly didn't have any insightful observations while I was there. I was much too concerned with getting my nachos and checking out the scantily-clad women. If I weren't painfully sober throughout the whole thing then I'd probably have some interesting experiences worth transcribing, but I just went because it was free and gave me something to do for awhile.
>>
Someone make a new thread please or I'm going to cope and I might also seethe and get mad.
>>
>>25384162
Why's that?
>>
>>25384164
Make a new thread about what?
>>
>>25384165
Why's what?
>>
>>25384162
i just had an experience i'll write up but i'm not wasting on a used up thread
>>
>>25384168
Why don't you have anything to loosen the writing gears or insightful observations? You can use your brain, or not?
>>
>>25384158
I assume you're on about the mastery. The saying goes, a fool feels complete, a master on his deathbed wishes he could have practiced more. If you arent good enough to find joy in perfecting your craft you arent very good at all.
>>
>>25384169
How is it a waste?
>>
this board is so dead the front page hasn't moved
>>
>>25384169
That's fair.

>>25384170
Because I'm broke at the moment and I don't have inspiration to write unless I'm fucked up in some way.
>>
>>25384172
Why should I become a master?
>>
>>25384174
cuz this thread is going to scroll to its doom momentarily
>>
>>25384177
Why are you broke, and why do you need to be fucked up?
>>
The fireworks on the beach here are obviously killing baby turtles! The liberals were routed from this town though it is what it is
>>
>>25384179
Okay.
>>
>>25384166
A new write your thoughts thread. Or I'm going to cry. I might seethe
>>
>>25384184
Why were the liberals routed from the town?
>>
>>25384178
What else is there to do? Bitch?

>>25384189
Autosage posting is best posting. Cry if you must, I've already won.
>>
>>25384182
Because I have a meager job that pays me just enough to get by, and being fucked up as always been an issue for me creatively. After using things like cocaine or LSD and creating much more vivid and deranged drawings or writings, the same pursuits sober feel like an underwhelming chore. I don't have the creative force flooding my brain, so relegate myself to trivial commentary instead, when I'm not asleep or working, that is.

Well its tough to put up a resistance in a Florida beach town during a Trump administration especially when the lesbians in charge of the local liberal coalition break up and dissolve the party

I love you thank you
