Communist/socialist society can exist so long as you exclude sociopaths, narcissists, psychopaths and BPDs and low IQ morons.
The reason why it imploded and why it was met with so much resistance externally is because of evil people and partly because of ignorant and stupid people, but really more so evil people.
evil people don't like communism or socialism.
mainstream communists and socialists for some reason don't bother with the idea that maybe some people are inherently incompatible with communism.

I would love to live in a commune with good people, but the moment you include evil people in the commune it will implode. This is why it fails. and no, you mostly can't educate them into being good.
There are also some things that mainstream communist literature gets really wrong, like the concept of ownership. you shouldn't own other good people, but owning objects or property that can be used for good is not a problem in and of it self. this might sound close to something like National Socialism but it's really not. Nazis are evil because they don't have a concept of good. they just care about society in a strictly exploitative manner or exhaustive manner. communists are generative, national socialists are degenerative, even if they put a front that says otherwise.

And finally good and evil transcend race. race can maybe be correlated to some extent but it's not a very strong correlation. most white people for example are actually evil, not good. because most humans in general are evil.

Any form of social organization works as long as there is a sufficient amount of social trust.
There was an online videogame (I forgot what it was called) where players had to build a spaceship or something. One group of players did it under a capitalist system and the other in a socialist system. The result? They were exactly the same, because the only people who play that shit are autistic nordics.

my shamelessly utopian vision for communism: three coexisting levels, (1) basic boring stable infrastructure to secure decent universal standards of food, fuel, shelter, healthcare; (2) tens of thousands of communes performing tentative experiments in new modes of living, some that don't look very communist at all, some where class society reappears in a kind of parodic bdsm form, some that look like 50s suburbia, some that look like post-apocalyptic wastelands, some where all work is planned by an AI supercomputer, some where all work is planned by perl scripts on a linux thinkpad, etc etc etc, trying out all kinds of rituals, games, aesthetics, each commune lasting a few months to a few years, depending on their goals and how things turn out; (3) networks of deleuzo-spinozan research centres that study and disseminate the outcomes of these experimental communes, seeing what works and what doesn't and why, what makes people joyful and active or sad and weak, and developing new experiments on that basis.

you're right in the sense that it's the ideology of a lifeforce that's been cut off from the means of living, from the means of becoming beautiful and strong

so, uh, eugenics? racial hygiene? papi hitler?

Enjoy your ban for off-topic posting!
>>
if i'd been lucky enough to have been born a janny i wouldn't be so harsh on off-topic threads.

the value of a board is not only 'a place to post about X' but also 'a place to post with people who care about X'.

i'd rather talk about politics with literature fans than with fans of polandball memes.

>can't have real discussions on my board!
>must ban discussions when they get too real
>now lets go back to discussing other off-topic threads on /lit/ that don't touch the stove as much.

This is why communism can only work in small, homogenous populations.

Iceland before the doctors & engineers probably could’ve gotten pretty close to a communist society.

Honestly if a communist movement actually gave a damn about how aware and informed the average citizen was, and paired that with brain scans that disqualified obvious bad actors like psychopaths from running for office (or at minimum gave them their own separate land, socially and politically self contained, inside or outside the commune), and made the whole process transparent enough that any reasonably sharp citizen could check it themselves, then you'd actually have a version of communism that scales.

Yeah? So how do you feel about Dungeon Crawler Carl? Because I'm pretty sure it's basically an isekai.

It's lowbrow literature.
Now, denounce vishnu.

You're only saying this because the topic doesn't sit well with you. there are so many not so /lit/ topics that stay here for days before getting archived because the topic is engaging despite not technically being /lit/ material.
You give those a pass but not when an actual interesting thread appears.

Either merge /lit/ with /his/ or make /his/ actually good for philosophy/politics-adjacent topics.

and don't tell me /pol/, /pol/ doesn't even talk with real politics in proper depth.

Communes are fine, the problem is when you try to make your communist/socialist society encompass millions of people at once -- partially because you're bound to have cluster C people, but really because it's just impossible to administrate effectively
