been working on my novel at a glacial pace. my main characters are a large muscular usually silent man with a blunt flat affect kind of personality who holds himself at fault for the death of his coworker 4 years ago, and a small lithe guy who believes himself to be worth less than other people and is willing to spend himself on their behalf as a result. at the end of the story the latter ends up crippled and is living with the former, who takes care of him. it's not meant to be gay but I guess it's not really meant to not be gay either.

I finished Disco Elysium. Flawed (the ending sucked and the prose's syntax is extremely predictable and congested), but pretty good overall. It still felt less like a Russian symbolist novel and more like a Marvel "graphic novel".
