I'm tormented by the impulse to write, but I got nothing to write about. Every day feels like a wasted one because I didn't write. It's subtly ruining my life. I can only journal from time to time.
Force yourself to sit down and write then. Control yourself. Write about literally anything, Start small and write even just 100 words a day at first, then make it 500, then make it a time block where you don't care about how many words just that you sat in front of your computer, notebook, typewriter, whatever for that period of time and did nothing else but work on the page. You'll find out quickly if you actually want to write or not, permitted you don't lie to yourself. If you can't make yourself write 100 words a day then you don't want to write, you want to be a writer.
>>25515150Just venting? Want advice? Want sympathy? Why did you post?Anyway from what I hear the important thing when you're blocked is to write about anything at all, including writer's block, but just keep writing. I know you want to start on your magnum opus or whatever but the reality may be that you need to write lots of garbage and edit it into something later. Which cannot happen if you have no garbage to sort through. I await your defensive "I already tried that" reply with anticipation.
Have you considered leaving the room in your mommy's house where you grew up, going outside, and living life?
>>25515260Why, no; I have not.
Get out in the world and start living
>>25515150This is what poetry exists for. Go find some brief impression of something, either in the real world or in your head, and spend 20 minutes treating it as a puzzle to fit that impression into a few lines of iambic tetrameter with rhyming couplets. Then post it in the poetry general so we can all ignore it.
>>25515150Find a story. You have no story.
Use your imagination, retard
>>25515150Maybe you don't actually want to write, anon. You want to have written, which is different.
>>25515150if your will to create and express doesnt dictate your development of skill, you arent going to produce anything worthwhile anyway so dont sweat it
>>25515150I could write hour after hour but it would sound like the most stupid garbage imaginable
What >>25515407 said. All art is some form of storytelling and without a story to tell you cannot make art. Like most you are either a neet or working a job so your time is wasted or spent, not lived. It's only your fault if you can change but refuse.
