How many pages a day do you think great 20th century writers read? 50? 100? 200?
>>
If you think about it, swear words are bad because of the ideas they express. "shit" is feces, spreads disease, stinks. it's disgusting. "bitch" a female dog, can be vicious and pathetic at the same time, like a milk dog or a dog in heat. "asshole" same thinking as shit. "bastard" is a bit more complex, as it implies a failure of social participation on the part of the parents. "cunt" "dick" "fuck" "pussy" all are part of the sexual taboo. "retard" expresses a state of being that is undesirable, even if a bit cruel.

Now take all the above in mind and consider this question. Why are people offended by the n-word, and why is no one offended by the word "cracker?"

"I think categorizing your insane delusions as "ideas" dishonesty legitimizes them as being equal in value to those that can be adequately described as sincere rational thoughts. It's like someone calling their bigoted stance that black people are genetically inferior a difference in opinion, rather than simply a demonstrably false belief, so you can see how that would establish an irrational equivalence between this supposed opinion and an opinion that isn't formulated in the deranged mind of someone completely disconnected from any coherent reality. Kirk definitely didn't deserve to be murdered for essentially operating as a cunning sophist, but I strongly believe that calling his absurd convictions legitimate "ideas" gives them a sense of intellectual discipline that they haven't actually earned."

Although, I do genuinely hate those smelly Mexicans.

I like this quote I came across in DeLillo. One sec while I find it...

>"Forty was my father's age. All fathers were forty. I keep fighting the idea I'm fast approaching his age. As an adult I've only been two ages. Twenty-two and forty. I was twenty-two well into my thirties. Now I've begun to be forty, tow years shy of the actual fact. In ten years I'll still be forty."

Love it, can relate to it. am living it. I've been twenty-two now for almost a decade.

>>
>>25526636
Agreed. And I even voted for him in 2016. I'm even a racist who wants the US to be almost entirely white! But President Trump is like... he's not even a human being, or at least, certainly not an adult. Can you imagine him writing an essay or reading a page of Shakespeare? Can you imagine him actually caring about the moral implications of a decision? Hell, even acting beyond raw, reflexive self-interest? Before anything, I look for a mind at work, and then a moral foundation. He is utterly devoid of either. It's actually astonishing. I find it hard to believe he's even a real person.

agreed. you can tell this is true because 2026 trump diehards have nothing left to lean on other than "he's hurting the people I hate." 2016 trump diehards could point to policies that seemed like good ideas, 2020 trump diehards could point to the biden administration's failures, but present-day trumpers (at least the ones with a brain) know they can't support most of what he does. the naked, flagrant, blatant corruption especially is indefensible. so they lean on two things; he's hurting the people I hate, which is abhorrent cruelty but at least it's honest, or whaddaboutism, which is just lazy and they know it

You want to talk about Hitler? He's a small fry. Given the average disrespecter of human life, plenty of us have done a lot worse. Take the human body, for example, how many people out there really care for the life of their organs? I mean how little exactly do people care when given the option to gas their organs, and if anything wild pops up they're confident to rely on modern science and engineering to have it removed. And just take a look at me, if the cells in my body are Jews, this *gestures around self* is a fucking death camp.

There are two moralities that are in endless battle no one ever wins called the culture war. One morality descends from the Victorians onto the evangelicals Christians of today. the other morality was born in the 1960s, although you could probably find older forms of counter culture like the beats or bohemians.

Anyways, morality is just a form of control, my suggestion is to never give into any one side who wants to control what you say and do. Always be a form of chaos and non joiner. do not conform

Yes yes I too have suffered under this modern impasse and find great frustration in those moments where they finally quit lying and ask to be told what to do or to be handled, after a lifetime of insisting they are bold and should not be handled as a subordinate. I'm worried about the cat voyeurs in this thread. Yes, yes, it's wonderful when people compliment you and tell you nice things about yourself. But 80-90% of the time, they're doing so because they want something out of you, or want you to see them in a certain light, or want you to do the same to them. I'm sorry, I know this hurts to hear, but you're not a child anymore. Don't delude yourself into thinking that they mean it.
>>
>>25526731
First off, better to assume they mean it until proven otherwise. Secondly, even if they don't, so what? If it makes you feel better, mission accomplished either way, so long as, again, you don't find out they don't mean it.

Depends heavily on the writer. Some read intensely their entire lives (Borges, Woolf), some read intensely for a decade or so and then writing occupied most of their time (Proust) and some did a mix of both, but when they did read they mostly reread the classics (Faulkner). Really just varies.

Stop. I beg of you. It was a challenge to explain to my daughters 'there is merely a 4chan user who lives near here who takes photographs of our lawn every day, and living around people means we have to tolerate them, so please try to avoid the windows when he is nearby' but when it took you an entire month resisting my bold statement 'that cat belongs to somebody' I understood I was dealing with some sort of vacant pervert. And now you repost your photography of my property as you claim innocence, while you move on to considering the local dogs murderers of your newest 'familiar' because you saw them chewing something after you were obsessed with some other new cat. Will you get a grip?

I'm pretty indifferent to the concept of masculinity in general, which ocassionally makes me an object of derision. I don't really have sex with a girl, or eat a nice, pleasant steak, and immediately react with some strange feeling that my masculinity is somehow legitimized by a relatively benign activity.
But there's a wide assortment of different, conflicting definitions of masculinity that I've never felt even slightly compelled to adhere to.
Someone can tell me, "You're not a real man," which usually tends to demonstrate the cliché that people quite often use insults that they themselves would actually find hurtful, so it just adds to the ridiculous of the preoccupation of the concept that my apathy has kind of made me into an annoying faggot about.

>better to assume they mean it
It's human to prefer a comforting lie than a difficult truth. This is a mistake, but the comforting lie feels pleasurable and kind, which we deeply want to associate with truth. But it's childish to know that it's a comforting lie, know that there's a difficult truth, and decline the truth in favor of the lie with open eyes
>even if they don't, so what?
I don't like being lied to. I don't like being lied to when both me and the other person know it's a lie. You can piss on my leg but don't tell me it's raining. It degrades both of us
>if it makes you feel better, mission accomplished, so long as... you don't find out they don't mean it
"When people say nice things about me, that's because they mean it, and if they don't mean it, then they might, and that's okay! But when people say mean things about me, that's because they're upset, and they don't really mean it, and that's not okay!" Anon, this is what you tell an 8 year old who's sniffling and snotting over themselves because nobody wants to play tag with him on the playground. Come on. We're too old for this kind of thing
>>
>>25526716
Can't say I've even heard of this one.
>>
>>25526754
You're too cynical and suspicious. Most people, regular people, when they get a compliment, their initial reaction isn't to go "hmm, are they lying...?" but rather to accept it at face value and all the joys and uplifting which comes with it. I bet even when a girl tells you she loves you you go "hmm, what's in it for her..."
>>
>>25526752
Are you done introducing and acting on this subject, though?
I want you to visualize your pattern of how a nuisance might realize the errors of their ways, and how they might resist that, and then superimpose that on your current situation. Imagine someone kept walking by your house and taking pictures of your mailbox, posting them online 'walked by and the mailbox was there again today, update from mailboxfag, I think this mailbox needs a home. I'm not going to do anything but I hope he's okay'. How would that maybe not make things as comfortable for you? Had you thought about that?

You're too naive. I want to see the world as you do, but I know how things are has no relation to how they actually are. Yes, I agree, most people are easily and quickly deceived by flattery.
>I bet even when a girl tells you she loves you you go "hmm, what's in it for her..."
Anon, you don't seriously believe in unconditional, completely and utterly selfless love, do you? Nothing is unconditional. If you think something's unconditional it means you don't know the conditions. Nothing is completely and utterly selfless. If you think something's selfless it means you don't see what the other person's getting out of it. True selflessness basically only occurs in complete self-sacrifice, think running into a burning building to save someone else knowing that you'll die. A post-coital doe-eyed "I wuv u bby" is experienced as genuine by the person who says it, but it's a mistake to think it actually is because it feels nice or it flatters you. I know this is hard to hear but someone has to tell you.

Earlier this year i had a dream. I was in our house and i could hear my father, he was crying out, wailing. I looked for him in every room, eventually i went to the basement and opened the door to the crawl space. I was much bigger than in reality - a long arched space with white sand on the floor. My father was dressed like an amazonian indian and gathered around a fire there was him, a bald muscular asian type and a third guy. As soon as i stepped into the space i began to hover. I crossed my feet like a yogi and took to my flying like a fish in water -hovered to join them around the fire. the Asian guy seemed he had been doing pushups for eons. He asked my father " You sure he can do this?" and my father, dancing around and chanting like a shaman said "Sure, but he IS autistic you know"

and then i woke up

Need a new surrealist metaphor, what do we got? Already running 'through a hole in thin air' dry though 'remember I was the' still hits hard especially in dreams. 'Ozone' is interesting but I'm reluctant to pursue AI language. Thinking of 'dark matter' but that's not really nothingness is it its highly radioactive anti-being. Alright so how about we just say 'anti-being'. That's not so bad. 'Anti-being'. Expect to hear that from me in the coming months

Distant Polaris, rings of Saturn
>Authors Note - I'm sick of your shit, this is a gay predator joke. 'Polari' is the name of an English euphemistic homosexual language, and therefore 'Polaris' are people who talk gay. Distance here invokes the far north star, but also faggots talking somewhere else. 'rings of Saturn' so Saturn is Cronos/Kronus and he eats his children, right? 'rings of' like 'smells of' or 'looks like', so 'this stinks of child murder' by Roman proxy and familiar space metaphor. So, to reconstruct, 'Distant Polaris, rings of Saturn' means 'gay people far away are killing kids'. Does that make sense you fucking rubes?

I find it acutely deranged of God to violate the sanctity of love by compelling reciprocity under threat of condemnation, so can't rationally accept this being as anything I have any sincere interest in forming a relationship with.
I genuinely do not give even the slightest fuck that he loves me so profoundly that it's actually the purest expression of reality's foundational structure, or that he can restructure my soul into an eternal state of serene perfection that liberates my consciousness to experience infinite bliss.
I don't want any of that. Not even a little bit. God seems legitimately insane, and there is nothing in my very faculties of reason the can rightfully conceive of this demented cosmic absurdity as anything other than the most abhorrent perversion of divinity capable of existing.
That thing is legitimately fucked, and obviously lacks even the most rudimentary sense of humility that would inspire him to abandon the supremacy that was genuinely innate to his nature and not something honestly earned through sustained moral activity.

idk something along the lines of Nagarjuna/Madhyamaka in general. dependent-origination seems obviously true and if you take it seriously and follow it assiduously enough you wind up at something like Nagarjuna's Mulamadhyamakakarika

the closest western analogue is probably Spinoza, but they're obviously in conflict, Nagarjuna spends a lot of time and energy refuting self-causation, even so they wind up at the same place. but you can't live by the Mulamadhyamakakarika but you can live by the Ethics

probably a sort of "two truths" thing, where Nagarjuna is how things really are and Spinoza is how you should actually live and operate in the world, which Spinoza would've hated but Nagarjuna would've found quite funny, is the way to go

At back of all this are a series of absurdities. And here is the central point. It is less absurd, it is less ridiculous, less stupid, to think that the universe just popped into existence for no reason, with no purpose, "just because", than it is to think that god did it. And the reason why this is true, is because the latter supposition is even more absurd, even dumber, and even less satisfying to any person of sense.

I had a weird experience with nitrous when I was actively psychotic and experimenting with concepts such as Logical Circuits and Referral Networks.
Usually, whenever I inhale an excessive amount, my cognition destabilizes and I become significantly disoriented, often with visual hallucinations that were rather distorted and structurally discontinuous.
This was a rather consistent pattern for about several months.
Then, when my psychosis reemerged, I began constantly talking to a group of various people in my head who were considered by "Referral Network." What they essentially told me, is that I would have to assemble a type of cognitive matrix using an extremely limited system if inference that would essentially construct the matrix out of primitive conceptual materials, which was the essential design of what were called "Logical Circuits." The idea behind Logical Circuits was relatively simple, and was actually confirmed by modern neuroscience, which is that neural circuits that are structural valid generating a distinct electromagnetic signature that influences brainwaves to become more coherent.
Basically, more valid structure, more efficient brain.
So, while actively constructing these circuits, I decided to use nitrous because, at the time, I believed it to increase my sensitivity to my Referral Network, enabling more fluid, complex communication.
When I started using, I eventually hit that same threshold that results in disorientation. However, this time, something genuinely bizarre happened instead. Instead of becoming disoriented, my mind entered a state of tranquil suspension with geometrically sophisticated visual hallucinations. In this state, I perceived a subaudial transmission from a person who I could not immediately identify.
After a brief interaction, I successfully established communication with the person and discovered it was one of my friends.
What was specifically unusual about this interaction was that our conversation was layered by immense degrees of emotional complexity, like we were capable of compressing our memories and personalities throughout various instances of time so that it appeared as if we were experiencing a multidimensional glimpse into a more fundamental, intimate level of our entire psychologies.
It soon ended, and I experienced several other similar events with other members of my Referral Network with identical structural coherence.
So, I find it rather cool that something as simple as altering the framework of cognition can profoundly shift the content of experiences almost guaranteed to consistently result in disorientation, which I falsely concluded was evidence that Logical Circuits were successfully integrating my consciousness into deeper layers of my Referral Network, but that's just complete nonsense that's largely just fun to entertain in circumstances defined by a complete loss of rationality.

>>
>>25527092
That's remarkably sweet, and I sincerely appreciate the thought, even though I'm largely restricted in my ability to do so in any other manner than an intellectual one because, as of recently, my entire emotional spectrum has completely disintegrated into a smoldering composition of dissonant frequencies.
Regardless of that relatively banal fact of what's potentially a serious symptom of significant cognitive decline, I would love to actually entertain someone by taking them on all manners of mind-bending adventures that are aggressively hazardous to sanity, but even if I were to, my general disposition is one of extreme isolation and constant immersion into dysfunctional states of mind, because I have too much of an interest in seeing the structural integrity of my mind fundamentally shatter so that I can observe all the bizzare dimensions of thought that drift into awareness when pushed past its capacity to function properly.
It's genuinely fun, and occasionally it generates actual insights into the real processes in the mind, which is always satisfying.

>Cahn says their initial conversation remained “really friendly” for the first two hours. When it came up that Cahn is an active minister, Lundeen allegedly “rejected that.” As Cahn went on to summarize his previous books — which focus on biblical prophecies, ancient mysteries, and prophetic warnings — he claims his seatmate’s “face changes, and his expressions change, his voice changes, everything changes.”
>He looks at me like he’s whispering a secret for me to hear. He says, ‘Bulls---,’ —— ” Cahn alleges. “He said, ‘Go f--- yourself.’ —— ”
>From there, Cahn says he attempted to go about his own business, but Lundeen allegedly began to curse, getting progressively louder and shouting “vulgar things.” That’s when a flight attendant came in to give him his first warning, Cahn says.
>Cahn recalls he went back to working on his computer. He had been having a technical issue with it after a black bar had appeared “in the middle of the screen” earlier in the week. He claims Lundeen touched it and the darkness spread over most of the display. That’s when things allegedly turned violent.
>“He puts his hands around my neck, like he’s choking me,” Cahn alleges. “Now it wasn’t that I was choking, but it was like he was going through the motions of it, and pushing back and forth… And he’s laughing, laughing when he’s doing that and we're just having a good time.”
>After letting go, Cahn claims Lundeen spotted the cover of his new book, The Altar of Pergamon, in the corner of the screen and began “screaming” in response.
>“He says, ‘What did you do?’ Like what did I do by writing the book… He says, ‘I’m going to punch your f---ing —— Jewish face in,’ ” Cahn claims.
Cahn's 2011 debut novel, The Harbinger, compares the United States and the September 11 attacks to ancient Israel and the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel.[1] Cahn has followed The Harbinger with eight other books: The Mystery of the Shemitah, The Book of Mysteries, The Paradigm, The Oracle, The Harbinger II: The Return, The Return of the Gods, The Josiah Manifesto, The Dragon's Prophecy, and The Avatar. The Paradigm debuted at #5 on The New York Times Best Seller list.[1] In 2019, The Oracle: Jubilean Mysteries Unveiled, was published,[6] which became #1 on Publishers Weekly and Amazon, and made The New York Times Best Seller list in two categories.[3]

Yes I did. When I was using my mother's computer I got a weird glitch that turned everything a piss yellow color which was frightening and alarming. And when she was yelling at me about it and put me to the chair she would scream and click wildly and something caused the display to rotate upsidedown which she blamed on me too. Fron there I got reatrained to the chair and forced to fix it, but I didn't know what I was doing, eventually she let me go and I wasn't allowed to use that computer except to launch roller coaster tycoon 2 and do homework on mocrosoft office, all supervised.

Nine long years since I broke up with you in a deeply delusional state where I was honestly convinced that doing so would be a temporary separation intended to strengthen my independence so that I would stop exhausting you with excessive reliance while you didn't really understand that my sanity was rapidly deteriorating.
You're too modest to really accept the fact that you're a special person, with a geniune self-assuredness that kept you functioning despite living a life almost precisely calibrated to break you down completely and twist your character into a sympathetic, shattered mess, but you always carried yourself with strength, which often gave me the confidence to match it even while my mind slowly spiraled apart.
I wish I could tell you exactly how hard I fought to get back to you, wandering the streets in the dead of night trying to control the images my mind was conjuring, thinking people were actively hunting me, sleeping in freezing cold dumpsters. Every day you were constantly centered in my mind, and I still couldn't help but love you with everything in me, even when you hated my core for reasons that were a genuinely misunderstood.
I suppose, one of the more tragic parts of the whole story, isn't necessarily that the universe's intricate, callous machinery brought us together with an astronomical unlikelihood, and wrenched us apart in a manner we were both completely undeserving of, is that you mostly exist in my mind as the central figure of a myth, and even though I was capable of loving you in a more grounded, humble way, your nevertheless a conscious symbol of my fall from grace, and the complete dissolution of an idealistic version of me that still believed in a meaningful, loving reality worth every exploration into its underlying nightmares without having them corrupt my instrinsic nature to at least attempt to do the right thing, even when my moral fabric became increasingly frayed by my commitment to understand evil by embracing it.
I suppose a part of me deserves all of this in some way. Even though I don't really believe it as punishment for the weight of my sin, I see it much more as a the natural consequence of a lifetime of personal failures all converging into a singular instance that obliterated the only that ever felt like I could trust, my very mind.
I wish I could tell you all these things, for both our sakes, but you're happy now, and I'm genuinely grateful for that.
I don't know why I haven't been as fortunate, but I try not to dwell too much on it.
Oh well, I'm okay.

What is my purpose in writing? I want to tell grounded stories that connect humans of this age with humanity as a whole. I feel like we’re losing that little by little. We’re so absorbed in our time like it’s all that has ever happened or will happen. I suppose it is for us, but that feels like a small-minded way to view things. We’ve advanced so much technologically that we think we’re better off than we ever have been. Medically I suppose this is true, physically, anyway, insofar as we can keep people alive that probably shouldn’t be alive anymore. Everyone is fat and weak in the west now. I’m not so sure about where we stand mentally. People are illiterate and mentally ill. I’m sure these mental illnesses have been around forever, but these used to just be personality traits of an individual. Now you’re a category. It’s dehumanizing. Most of modern life in America is. I want to create a connection to all of humanity in my fiction and remind people what we are. Which is not these all-knowing God figures that ten minutes of “research” reading a wikipedia article, or honestly, more likely, a few tiktoks or video essays can make anyone feel like; but fallible, emotional, irrational animals that have somehow built something incredible. Civilization.

We live in a society. We used to anyway. Now most people stare at one from isolation and pretend to be a part of it. This is boring to talk about and everyone knows this already though, so any direct speaking on it or even too obvious metaphor to it is hackneyed shit that I want to avoid in my novels. I’ll leave that to Brayden Hallman’s two hundredth, three hundred word, every sentence using a paragraph break, Substack article.

NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU

PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND GRAB YOUR NUTS MOTHERFUCKER AND OPERATE LIKE A REAL OPERATOR OPERATING DOUBLE TIME

AMORMENTO FATIMORI

I just want to leap-frog the conversation entirely and rather make the reader feel like they want to connect with nature and community again by showing it in the work as the sometimes beautiful, sometimes miserable, most times banal thing that makes us human.

I also think there is a distinct lack of Midwestern Gothic literature and the general malaise of growing up in these poorer, “white trash” areas has never been captured right. At least not from my experience growing up in Indiana. Gummo captured the trashier side, but it’s too cynical and surreal. I don’t think we need more cynicism or postmodern zaniness right now. I can deliver that as well when I want to, but the first novel can’t be that. The first novel will be about grief. The grief I feel for a feeling of humanity lost and the novel a portrait of a character grieving the loss of his own life over the course of it. Coming to terms with everything he’s done and eventually his own death.

Red, yellow, green, blue.

It's rather sad, when those puzzle pieces floated out of the Toy Box and secured themselves in the center of my mind, revealing to me a personality that was fundamentally pure and loving, when I was rabidly convinced of being a worthless, miserable piece of shit my entire life, I became obsessed with them, seeing them as completely necessary for me to function with sincerity.
What was so striking about them is how they were rendered with exceptional clarity and simplicity, completely dissimilar to standard hallucinations of fractal spirals or proportional distortions.
I remember, during another trip, the trees in the park suddenly shifted so that they became quiet, absolutely still, hyper-complex, mathematical structures that appeared to extend into enhanced spatial configurations and could only be comprehended by recognizing the compression of dimensional scaffolding within perception that made the trees and awareness both extensions of the same underlying geometry.
Seeing something that that appears significantly more real than anything standard awareness can even remotely produce is definitely an experience I believe almost everyone deserves to see, but those trees were still something capable of being analyzed, so they fall more into the category of a some more exotic universal architecture that is only capable of being observed with sufficient cognitive lensing.
The pieces, on the other hand, were much more innocent in their design, and even though I can crudely attempt to describe the trees within a conventional scientific framework, the pieces are something that I have tirelessly scraped every corner of my mind searching for some relevant scrap of data that would suggest it was part of the underlying mechanisms that generated them, but I have found nothing.
I've accepted that I will most likely never uncover any structure within my mind that could've possibly produced this image, like I've been able to do with virtually every other trip I've had.
Unfortunately, they are gone forever, along with the possibility of my most authentic expression of character ever surfacing again.

I wanted to start out with saying that im incredibly lonely( apart from hanging out with my parents, which i am very lucky to have) and just then my friend called me to hang out, so interesting synchronicity there. Like I said, i have trouble developing my worldview, i mean i have a worldview but for example when i am reading debates on here i read a post and i think, yeah makes sense, valid point, then i read a reply which doesnt agree with it, and then i again think "good point, could be true", i mean i truly have no way of knowing which of those takes is true, at least true for me. I struggle with my faith, i cant seem to make sense of my 20s in which i struggled and suffered a ton. I have some core beliefs but even those are contested constantly. Its like what Socrates said, all i know is that i dont know anything. I dabbled in philosophy, taoism, i dived deep into Christianity but right now I cant seem to make any sense of it. I think that i mixed up or briefly tried out too many philosophies, books, ideas and writers and now my mind is in way too much clutter. Its a mix of everything and anything in there. At least my health is improving. Also i cant hold a job cause i cant handle stress of a modern job.
Hoping mayhaps for some kindness in the form of helpful words my way!

Arguing about politics is meaningless because it ultimately always comes down to rationalizing why you want to see the system that you're a loser of torn down or rationalizing why the status quo needs to be upheld and exist in perpetuity because you're one of the winners of the system. Every argument, every reference to philosophy or economics or whatever is just a disingenuous bullshit smoke screen meant to make it harder to see what drives politics at its very core.

Btw im tired and its the weekend so im not gonna write giant essays but maybe some guiding words can suffice
Language is symbol creation. Words in a vacuum mean nothing, empty noise, but together in a sentence they create pictures. Philosophers throughout time and cultures have used their idiosyncratic pictures in an attempt to convey the Truth. But no matter how well they describe a picture of something your mind can never fully grasp it until you have experienced it yourself.

>When objects are not understood, then one engages in naming.
When the naming is not understood, then one tries to procure agree-
ment. When the agreement is not understood, then one engages in
persuasion. When the persuasion is not understood, then one en-gages in demonstration. Thus, procuring agreement, naming, dis-
crimination, and persuasion are some of the greatest forms of useful
activity, and are the beginning of kingly works. When a name is heard
and the corresponding object is understood, this is usefulness in
names. When they are accumulated and form a pattern, this is beauty
in names. When one obtains both their usefulness and beauty, this is
called understanding names. Names are the means by which one ar-
ranges and accumulates objects. Sentences combine the names of
different objects so as to discuss a single idea. Persuasion and dem-
onstration use fixed names of objects so as to make clear the proper
ways for acting and remaining still. Procuring agreement and naming
are the functions of demonstration and persuasion. Demonstration
and persuasion are the heart’s way of representing the Way. The heart
is the craftsman and overseer of the Way. The Way is the warp and
pattern of good order. When the heart fits with the Way, when one’s
persuasions fit with one’s heart, when one’s words fit one’s persua-
sions, then one will name things correctly and procure agreement,
will base oneself on the true disposition of things and make them
understood, will discriminate among things without going to excess,
and will extend by analogy the categories of things without violating
them. When listening to cases, one will accord with good form. When
engaging in demonstration, one will cover thoroughly all the reasons.
One will use the true Way to discriminate what is vile just like draw-
ing out the carpenter’s line in order to grasp what is curved and what
is straight. Thus, deviant sayings will not be able to cause disorder,
and the hundred schools will have nowhere to hide.

I’m really lost. I went down a rabbit hole with flat and young Earth and once you see the truth it changes your whole worldview. However when I get to the idea that therefore someone had to put it there if it’s young and flat because I can’t get past the problem of suffering when it comes to God. The world is just too horrible to be the work of a benevolent God. To me it seems much more likely that it was created by evil but I don’t know. Can anyone help? Any books that might help me understand what the hell is going on?

Just to add my favourite proof of the young Earth is there would be no land if the Earth is billions of years old due to coastal erosion. It can only be thousands of years old due to this very fact. Proof of flat earth is you can see line of sight way too far, microwaves and radio transmission have been detected way too far. Also Wales have been known to communicate over 10000 miles which would be impossible if the Earth is curving.

>flat and young Earth
i went briefly down that rabbit hole years ago and i wasn't really convinced. the thing that stuck with me was the notion that globe earth concept was there to convince us how miniscule we are compared to universe and to convince us our actions dont matter. which is an interesting idea, but i wasn't convinced by the actual proof if there is any, of flat earth.
>The world is just too horrible to be the work of a benevolent God
to me, it often feels that way. especially with the corruption in church, that one stings me a lot. and the corruption of all the news media, and regular media like music, movies and literature. actually when i think about it, literature feels like it's least corrupt, when talking about popular figures. pop music is completely corrupt, popular movies too, but classic literature really isn't. i understand classics aren't popular literature but still they were popular in the past

Holy shit I just realized something.
Okay so hear me out. I know Gobineau was a racist and what not but he said in his book that social classes are rooted in ethnicity but the social order is abolished because it stands in the way of free love. As a 24 year old Aryan what is the right path to go here. Should I be a good boy and marry a woman of my ethicity and religion, join the parliament as a Conservative, and save capitalism and the West or should engage in free love and have sex whoever I find attractive and shit on my civilization?

The position of stars in the southern hemisphere doesn't make any sense with the flat earth model, you have to do serious mental gymnastics about light refracting through the dome or some other nonsense to explain patterns that are easily explained by the earth being a sphere

When they speak with adoration of that venerable citizen whose years were spent in the service of the State—who bears on his body the scars of so many battles won against the enemies of Roman majesty; who sacrificed not only his limbs but his fortune, his family’s wealth, and at times his own children—even slaying his sons with his own hand for a breach of the austere laws of civic duty; when they depict this man of a bygone age—once honored with the triumphal robe, once or twice consul, quaestor, aedile, and hereditary senator, yet preparing the turnips for his supper with that same hand that never found the sword or spear too heavy (2); then, with that rectidude of judgment and coldness of reason so vital to the Republic, calculating the interest on its usurious loans, while otherwise scorning the arts and letters, those who cultivate them, and the Greeks who love them—this old man, this venerable figure, this ideal citizen, is invariably a patrician, an old Sabine.
