OED obviously, but Collins and Cambridge are also good. Merriam-Webster can't be trusted, they change their definitions to fit ideological trends constantly for the views.

I believe I might be the one person who coined the modern (or more like moderner) usage of LARPer.
It was the late 00s and I used to browse both /v/ and /tg/ as main boards, and it was in the latter that I learned about LARP. I then used it in Oblivion threads to shit on the game, calling people roleplaying in it LARPers because the game didn't actually have mechanics to support their roleplaying and it was all in their mind alone.
But maybe I'm wrong, maybe the term was already misused that way and I just absorbed it by osmosis. It's been so long. But I do know that the way normalfags used that term nowadays is actually at lest 15 years old. The internet can sometimes be really fast, other times really slow.
