Is It Halloween Yet?

met my therapist to vent about my relationship. made me realize how shit it actually. left feeling so light because i know it's over and that I don't need to feel the subtle occasional shittiness from being w her

60 teenagers had a party in the cul-de-sac in front of my house last night. I was in the city getting way too handsy with a nervous mom on dance floor so I didn't see any of it, but the neighbor said the cops came and the kids scattered down the cliffside and off into the woods and through everyone's yard. I'm old enough that I hope some of them turned their ankles or their trashed out cars got towed. Happy Halloween everybody
>>
Halloween is for fucking the skinniest single mom you can find, preferably in her house with the paper thin walls so the generational nightmare of being 12 and putting a pillow over your head to drown out your mom's grunting stays alive.
>>
>>25625040
Gonna be a very boring one for me. Was gonna hang out at my friend's house but those plans got dashed.
>>
Have an idea about a short story on a methadone clinic heroin addict who has taken it upon themself to be resident OP of this inherently awful /wyt/ thread. A character deeply seen into and judged with scrupulous fairness. Think it’d be a good mouthpiece for some other feelings I have.
>>
It's fucking mindboggling how fucking obsessed leftists are with christianity ("religion")
>the bad guy thinks he is the head of a religion like the pope!!!! cuz he's evil and like, dude, christians bad!!!!!
>dude biblically accurate angels!!!! they're like FREAKS man like holy shit lmao totally fucking alien dude bro christians?!
>lol dude there's god like, god but he sharts himself lol!!!! so fucking funny hahahah!!! lol god is shit bro!!!!
>dude god god god god god god god god god christians jesus religion!!! virgin mary giving blowjobs cuz lol christianity fucking lmao funny!!!!
I'm an atheist and I think about religion or christians maybe once a month. If you're an atheist how can it be that important to dunk specifically on christians every 5 seconds, I know it's because you're guaranteed no consequences unlike with muslims who'll chop your head off with an axe, but why? Is it really all about perceived rebellion against the system when you use chatgpt more than your brain? is that not the system or what?
Why do they never make fun of jews? It's cool to be pro Palestine too right now, why do they never dunk on jews? Not even zionists? I'm not sure if they know what a zionist is. A lot of them don't even know the old testament is jewish, how the fuck do they not know? How do you become so obsessed with a specific religion when there isn't even some basic information that warrants this obsession except that it's been white people's religion and the worst thing it did for you was mention that mashing your dick to porn 27 times a day is not a good thing?
It's so mentally exhausting I don't fucking know how to deal with these people wasting my fucking time. Every other person my age is a leftist and they're all running this script.
>>
>>25625107
ever considered staring your opinions normally or nah?
>>
>>25625109
They assume you're also running the script and if you're not then you are a right winger (you can't be a christian cause you're smart) or some other spook. I'm pretty sure I've got a bunch of labels on me already for facecrime. I don't want to get into arguments with people when there's nothing I can achieve with it like a more intelligent conversation
It's so fucking tiresome I just want to be alone
>>
So in Chicago you really just can bring a weed vape legally into a concert?

So what do I say when I open the door today? I've never handed out candy all evening before. I open with a smile, they say "trick-or-treat!" then I say what? "Nice costumes"?
>>
You know you go for too many walks around the neighborhood when one of the ladies in her garage stops you and says, "hey! do you not have a job?"
>>
because i feel close to ending, i want to kind of write a goodbye letter, that goes like this:

save them kids, even though evil witches were not invited and made a mess, i hope the world turns around beautiful.

i will never know the truth, which is probably breaking many rules. perhaps i am not grown up and real because of my lack of, well many things. just know that i tried.

i am not mad of any circumstance, that left me feeling a chunk of me was taken, probably it that was necessary for whatever reason. id like something like if i cant have a life here, i take my story to the other side.

i just wish i would have made it, you know. to see.
>>
I don’t celebrate Halloween, I don’t feel capable of bringing children joy at this stage of my life.
>>
leaving my porch light off and staying inside tonight since my neighborhood is like 95% families with young kids and im the weird perma single incel loser creep and the idea of giving candy out and thus having to see and speak with a bunch of happy families all night long is mortifying

They will if you hand out some candy (and wear some decent clothes and shower). Let this be a lesson in life. If you have something to offer, people will gravitate to you!

there are flowers everywhere for those who want to see them
>>
>>25625127
Almost everywhere with legal weed you can bring your vape in. Some places will kick you out of you start using it where everyone can see you, usually they stop bothering with that a ways into the concert. Best to go do hits in the bathroom or outside in the smoking area if they have one of those, but you'll always see a few people discreetly taking puffs most of the time if you look around.

I used to have a disposable I would bring out so I could cheaply replace it if they wanted me to not bring it in and I didn't want to walk back to the car and get back in line to keep it, but no one ever bothered me about it so I just bring my regular one that takes the replaceable tube things now.

What I don't like about Latin is that to yell "Go!" at someone, like maybe they have gotten their cart of tied up twinks stuck in the ruts in the road in front of you and you need to make it to the public bakery with your lump of uncooked dough in time to have it baked for you before nightfall, anyway you're yelling "Go! Fucking gooooooo!" at them but in Latin that's just "I! Iiiiiiiiii!!!!" so you just sound like you're making a beeping sound with your mouth. Should've learned Greek instead of this goofy ass sidelined lingua franca.

On the edge of sleep, do ever find yourself back in the pocket worlds of dreams you had years ago and haven't given a second thought to since? An impossible concrete silo in the middle of your walk to elementary school, or a beach in an approximation of the mediterranean full of thousands of people? Just as you left them years ago.
>>
>>25625479
You never actually forget your dreams. In fact you don't really forget things at all. You just lose the way back to them. When you're at the gates of sleep, you can find your way again because you are in a similar state of mind as when you remembered them last.
If you make an effort to consciously take note of your dreams immediately after waking, before you even move, your recall will improve. If you are like me you may notice that your dreams all take place in one shared space, or more eerily, that the person who you experience being in dreams is not who you are when waking.
In a similar way, you can recall things long forgotten if you can find your way back to the exact train of thought you had when you last recalled whatever it was. This is difficult because most people do not consciously take note of the specific circumstances under which they think of something, but the unconscious part of the body does what we do not do consciously. The next time you smell something specific and a deeply buried memory returns unbidden you'll experience what I mean.
>>
>>25625425
I think that's virtually universal outside of malcontents and misanthropes.
>>
>>25625490
Very interesting stuff. I've only written down a few of my dreams in my life, just quick rambling notes. Here's one (I often think about making things into music videos)

wierd dream to the tune of this is a call by foo fighters: nursing baby in crook of my arm on the train having a discussion with someone when suddenly it merges in to my arm which becomes like clear amber jelly in appearance. One of the major veins in my arm is now directing oxygen in the baby's nostril, it's is encased in my arm comfortably and happily like some lynchian cronenbergian test tube imagery. the baby is in its next stage of growing, the fact of which apparently everyone knows about except me. Music video where drumming and learning to live with it till it's time for the arm baby to be born once again
>>
>>25625479
I had a haunted house dream that I revisited with many small variations between like 18 and 24, often semi lucid dream, in later redreamings I would consciously be trying things in the dream to see how the dream was built or whatever, testing it out kind of academically while still dreaming about a house we had become trapped in and had to struggle in to survive. Lots of the details and runs I've forgotten, but at least I remember the generalities.

HAPPY HALLOWE'EN!!!!!!!
>>
Good night and happy Halloween yall!
>>
I've got two characters who are the first I ever made. Been with me since I was about 10. Very dear to me. I've got two stories I think they can slot in, the first is my main project and a big fantasy world with an overarching plot while the second is a comedic slice-of-life and a lot more personal as it's based heavily on my own life. In my heart I think I know that they would fit like a glove in the SoL because they are also heavily based on my traits but I want more for them than that. I want them to be the protagonists, the villains, whatever, just part of something larger than a down to earth episodic type comedy. I don't know what I'm gonna do.

in my first week at university, i met a girl at a club. i didn’t know anyone. i went with my roommates and they were dancing while i sat at a sort of corner table with only a jamaican guy who gave me two puffs of a joint earlier that night. she came up to me and said ‘you’re beautiful’. and gave me her number and said text her tomorrow (‘you better do it’). turns out she was 27 (9 years older than me). i only saw her three or four times after that. one time was a ‘date’ at her apt, which was very nicely furnished, she had a big tv on the wall which was playing bloom by beach house on youtube while we ate pasta alla vodka then watched the first half of an antonioni film on her sofa. i made no first moves.

I'm at a conundrum. My porch light is really dim, so I'm thinking I should leave the blinds to both sides of the front door open with the indoor light on, but then people will be able to see me inside and that's just awkward and weird. But then I worry if I close the blinds with the lights on, some people might think we're not open for business anyway. Ahhh!!

White people didn't like obese women prior to 1990. This fact will be lost in time, but a fact it will remain. Mishima's Life For Sale is available on audiobook now. A Japanese man offers to do any job asked of him so long as that job costs him his life in the classifieds. There is a scene where he becomes disgusted by how some people chew on raw carrots as though they were horses. There is a scene where he builds rapport with the vampire that hires him. There's a scene where a book is described which contains the clue the pharmaceutical company needed to develop the mind control drug he is hired to test -- it is a book on rare beetles.

To some small degree the posts I made then were a guide or else a counter example against how to post for newly arriving teens as they started getting old enough to use the computer at their house. If by newfag you mean I have one for in Internet culture and one foot out then yes, newfag is fine. But the Internet was never supposed to be something anyone kept both feet in. It was supposed to just be a curiosity and an occasional reference far in the background of your life.

Book is confirmed sick AF

It was published in a weekly magazine and I think it was a while before it was republished as a book. We didn't even get an English translation until 2020. It's doesn't have the polish of Mishimas other book and feels pretty raw and wild for him. when i read i feel like the author's slut. that makes it really hard, because i have no desire to read most people's writing, yet i have to when it comes to all this nonfiction that i have to read. i have all these books on various topics, also scientific articles and lectures, most are just not pleasant to read at all.
somehow it didn't use to bother me, i guess the sense of wonder about the topic was enough to carry me through, but that sort of thing died in me long ago, and all that's left is to be bothered by the shit writing.

I'm so radically unlike anyone else I've encountered that it makes me want to scream. The extent of my being unlike other people is so pervasive and all-encompassing that there's no situation and no company on earth where I can drop the mask. Even if I think I've found an unconventional, oddball, quirky, artistic, off-kilter, counter-culture, high open-mindedness group, if I so much as say a handful of my own genuine thoughts, I'm almost immediately met with total confusion at my jokes, or people see my beliefs and decide I'm a villain. There's just no break, not ever, not one, not one time.

You can have one or two beliefs like that just by statistical chance. If so many of your beliefs are like that that it makes it hard to intact with normies at all I would suggest you should be very concerned that the apparatus by which you construct those beliefs is a faulty one. People help each other figure these things out, and a group of minds can very often easily understand something or drive something to happen that any single mind can't. This is both a suggestion to you to examine yourself suspiciously for serious faults, and to involve other people in your life more. Which is maybe not that different from what >>25626086 said.

It's just genes, man. It was always genes. I was given a very extreme and outlier-tier set of genes and now I'm left to cobble together some semblance of a life out of them, a nearing on impossible task. It can be genes, you know - you ever look at Byron's family tree? The man was screwed from the start. Maybe screwed is the wrong word, but he was always destined to be like that more or less.

dislike this idea of blaming your genes. blaming your parents. i think the spirit that existed before we were born chose the genes and chose the parents that best fit its needs. the issue isn’t in them, its in us for not living accordingly to our true self (the god that made us).
>>
>>25626117
Even if your parents fuck up incredibly hard, you're supposed to become a rapist, a child molester, an abuser, a murderer, or a psychopath. You're not supposed to become whatever I am -- some random, pure nonsense, haphazardly put together combination of conflicting urges and desires which refuse to fit together or integrate at all into our world as it exists. You really cannot fathom what it's like to be me. Since I was a teenager, I've only become able to relate with certain rare figures like Rousseau, Schopenhauer, et. al. But I would previously hesitate to identify with them. Now I feel absolutely no shame in saying that I am on the same order of uniqueness as these men, the exact same order, let talent or performance or results be damned, I'm on the exact same order of uniqueness as them. I have to live this existence out every day, and you don't. I don't care anymore. This is my life, it's what it is, if I have to live the daily existence of getting stuck with pins every morning and night for simply being different, then at least let me be honest, and say what I am.

Right, but that's a trope.
What if you're born, and nature simply happens to churn out this bizarre weirdo who can't slot into any niche in society without chopping an arm or a leg off? What if you're born like a land-dweller to a family under the sea, and for your basic survival needs you have to constantly swim back up to the surface to get some air? I am trying my hardest in life, I'm sober, I'm exercising, I'm eating well, I'm conscientiousness. Life is just really, really hard when you're an accident of nature, something that apparently doesn't belong anywhere, like a bizarre stain on the fabric of the world of some unknown origin.

to write things down to that isn’t the same as writing them off altogether. you know there’s basically never been a dictator if above average height.
>>
>>25626139
I know you’re talking about blackpill looksmaxxing but want to hear my thinkpiece on physiognomy?: it works on the same level as attraction. Our conscious mind has no power on what we find attractive. It’s all wrapped up in nature and reproductive instincts. Reading someone’s face appeals to us on a necessarily secret and intuitive level. Any attempt to make a science of it is sure to be wrong-footed and probably blunts the instinctive tool that the skill requires, the way habit and intellect starve out imagination.
>>
>>25626142
I don't really know what to tell you man. You are not going to convince me that I'm not an incredibly unique and isolated person, because it's just the truth. It's simply true. I'm never going to get to experience real friendship, real romance, real sexual satisfaction, real camaraderie. It's really just a done deal. You'd have to fabricate up some really incredible argument to convince me that my decades of experience are all wrong here.
>>
>>25626146
yeah. well i’m not really talking about you, just in general. my dad used to say ‘don’t trust short people’. so much of life is seeking to compensate flaws. survival tactics. once you can’t get a girl or whatever it is the mind has to find some compensation and hold on for dear life.

Hey team. Making just under $200k in Southern California. 5th year. Possibilities for advancement are amazing at my current place, love the atmosphere and know they appreciate my work. However, I know I can easily be making AT LEAST $50,000 elsewhere. But let’s be honest: in this market, I am a high-yield asset. A hot commodity. If I walked into a competing firm today, the baseline is easily $250k. Do I take the guaranteed premium, or do I stay where the bonus structure rewards the relentless? My firm just announced market adjustments for all associates, an hours-based bonus program, and also matching student loan payments to a 401k (although I don't think its 1:1). 5% bonus for getting Satisfactory, 10% for Highly Satisfactory. Then 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 15% for every 50 hours over 1900, up to 2200. I feel like this closes advantage with the clear bonus structure despite the lower base salary. The new firm will have the higher base plus 9% bonus for bare minimum performance. Decisions decisions.

France is somewhat restrained on healthcare compared to its neighbors. Where it overspends is on pensions. Average pensioner earns more than the average worker in France right now and they have an early retirement age.

You asked 'aren’t people supposed to eat popcorn in cinemas?'. I found this to be a rhetorical question based on the surrealist premise that anyone would really care. Nobody can hear anyone chew popcorn except the chewer, it doesn't happen like that, certainly not in a theater. You sound like a victim of mind folie
