That's what people originally thought. They rushed the entire initial segment with the Rising Freedom/Immortal Justice then quickly got to the Athrun Z'Gok and shortly afterwards Destiny spec 2.

But it's really clear now months later they wanted to skip that initial part with the Rising/Immortal and introduce at least one of the new Gundams. After that everything has come to a halt.

Man, after finishing the Expansion story, I'm actually happy with the Cross Ange, Ideon and Eureka 7 plots. Even the CCA stage was cool, mainly tying into Ideon and actually giving some development to Quess. The meteor lead up leading to Ideon end-game, just replacing Buff clan with Anti-A/Embryo and the Yz-Next rejecting its judgement was cool. Cross Ange was just... the Cross Ange end-game without the supporting cast, but it tied in nicely with the Ideon part.

Star Driver is the one that felt "just there" though in the end. It's didn't really have a "post-series" plot unlike even Jeeg. The only "plot" was Takuto trying to unite team meteor and trying to stop Usurper, but in the end the later is fully focused on the OG protagonists so he doesn't shine like the previous licensed characters shone against the DLC 1/2 villains, and he doesn't even really do much leading for Team Meteor and they mostly come together on their own.

Some decent moments for Lelouch too, tied to both Ideon and the OG enemy. Better than how he was treated in the main plot at least.

I wish GridKnight had gotten some lines considering all the dimensional incursions and such. Getter is odd because they initially bring it up a lot and compare it with the Ide, but then in later stages this is all kind of thrown away and they don't even get any battle conversations.

Also, it was nice that Embryo (initially) is acknowlegded as a "Real Robo boss", so you can get some special angry quotes from characters like W and Da-Garn when facing him even though they have no Embryo specific lines (Never imagined I'd see W going "Count up your sins!" and then Rider Kicking embryo). But then when you get the Embryo army for some reason he loses that classification...

I did put some points in defense on Roger on my last save in D but I looked at the game's damage formulas later and you really need to go spend a lot more than the 5 bars in armor I stopped at or put all your points in defense for facetanking to match blocking more often.
Probably would be huge overkill since I didn't feel like Big O was flimsy at all by the end. Enemies start a little scary in D because your units fucking suck but they don't gain much more attack power later in the game.

Defense also matters more when armor is already high but you really need upgrades and parts to hit a good baseline in D, so special defenses end up being a lot more attractive since it only takes your levelup points and not money/part slots too.

AP would at minimum need
1. Upgrade tier corrections. There's also some weird ass oddities like Shin 1's Getter Beam being weaker and pricer than its counterpart in Getter 2 (which is just better overall unless you want to argue for "flavor" but this is rare in the modern games)
2. Accuracy increases across the board to match that of the other ~140 hit games of that era outside of stuff like probably Laz Angriff's finisher. IIRC its like +20 across the board so Beam Sabers reach +40 akin to J/W.
3. No one should have B Space as a pilot considering that there's just one Thruster Module in the entire game. If you want go gimp units, do it via their terrain instead.
4. You'd have to do some careful examination with the spirit sets that had Raid/Miracle/Revive. This is why Amuro got Soul in AP
5. Lamia needs Strike back.

Plus is a nice idea but forcing the changes in the main patch goes beyond fixing the problems and it feels a bit fanficy.

Vysaga already had reasonable enough range for support attacking. Fuujinsen/Kojinsen support everyone relevant for bossing because you can use them at 2 range. Laz Angriff is the one that would benefit from a reduction in the min range of its 2nd strongest move and Soulgain's entire point is being the hardest one. I did like changing Shadow Lancer to Range over Melee because it changes it to a 3-2 in favor of Gunfight which you already want.

I'm not expecting anything from Dynazenon exactly because Y already explained everything. The distortion that attracted Gridknight to this world was caused by Godzilla. It has nothing to do with Gridman Universe's plot unlike the tv show that left those things open for the movie.

I decided to do a comparison check to SRWJ.

Technically the most accurate PC in J caps out at 273 but he's only for one stage, so Kira is the most accurate PC overall in terms of raw hit.

Anyway, suffice to say, I wouldn't necessarily touch raw hit values based on other games without checking their evasion stats. For what its worth, Athrun has the highest evasion out of all characters in J capping out at 255.

Level 4 Lamia in OG2 in comparison has 188 Hit and 179 Evasion
Just blindly increasing everyone's accuracy to match the counterpart values in OG would make a mess of the game's balance.

Flight tends to consume additional EN per tile moved in other games and you also don't get to take advantage of terrain bonuses. In some games like IMPACT and MX, Range/Melee-Ranged weapons check your terrain as part of the damage formula, so you can actually rob yourself of damage by flying instead of being grounded which is an extremely relevant point in a game as overly finely tuned with its damage output as IMPACT. NEO/OE made flight cost 3 movement per tile and everything consumed EN. But that wasnt the real reason why no one bothered with flying unless they had to. What truly killed flight in NEO unless you had to was that anything with Anti Air would take up to double damage, face a massive avoid penalty and couldnt counter attack if they got hit.
Simply pulling a 2nd OG and heavily reducing the amount of A Flight units roaming around would be enough to stop flier spam but even then, if you're not going to make terrain bonuses and other things relevant, I'd rather they just leave flight alone.

Y actually ELIMINATED penalties for ground movement in order to make it more desirable, so people would try to use the forest and building bonuses. You only lose movement speed due to low terrain ratings of the unit, mainly water, rather than terrain themselves.

That said, they really need to go back to making the background of space maps count as different terrains. I guess they want to sell the feeling of fighting in a completely empty void? But in a game like SRW it just makes space maps blander.

I do like how the GBA games each had a different Getter series. Toei in A, Shin vs. Neo in R, Armageddon in D, and then noting in J. Then W brought back Toei piloting Shin Getter. Though it's credited to the manga I think design wise Shin is closer to the Armageddon version. Hell, even when the handheld games were using Kaiser OVA as the Mazinger rep K used Toei instead.

I don't think there's any enemies who have bad weapon ranks vs flying units, there's a few that can't really damage anyone that's underwater. Ground tiles are still pretty weak bonuses and HP/EN regen tiles don't seem to exist even though it's still part of the UI.

Player side units get a little more room to fuck around on things like that for flavor since they aren't working with just 1 or 2 attacks, if an enemy would be completely disabled by 90% of the roster hovering then they're usually gonna give it usable terrains even if it'd be impossible for them in the source material.
I think the anti-X effects in the 3D games were actually a decent idea but they probably didn't need to be so assblastingly strong. Like just a crit bonus would be fine.

I generally turn on animations when I want to check battle quotes or if it's supposed to be an important battle, like a boss or finishing move on a named character or new type of grunt.
