I've been slowly going through Teito Moyu and it's absolutely delightful.
what do I read after MLA? Total Eclipse or The Day After first?
>>23424730rerorerorerorero
>>23424772Total Eclipse, since The Day After will never ever be finished. You could also go for the shorter stories in photonflowers and photonmelodies. photonmelodies has Altered Fable, which shows you the hi-jinks Takeru gets up to in the new reality post Alternative.
>>23419302>you have been refuted, you just ignore the criticismDude, calling statements like "You don't understand, it's different!" "criticism" is somehow very far-fetched. I'm told here that the author portrays everyone as "bad guys", only the Soviets have an army of fighting serfs of national minorities, and the British have noble German knights. And not one of you, crappy "critics" has been able to clearly explain how this biased authorial crap correlates with some "impartiality" of Koki and Co. So fuck off.
>>23419797>CODEX was after MLA.Undoubtedly, but it is precisely this that is now referred to in disputes, and there is nonsense there. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there is no similar reference book on Alternative, unlike the same godforsaken TE, and you have to look for information in the game itself, which is quite troublesome.>Ivan-kun is well versed in the japaneseThe conversation was about Chinese and the translation was electronic - I posted this timeline somewhere in previous threads. I checked the information from RPG out of interest and for comparison, and since they also denigrate the USSR and the GDR, I don't see the point in even asking about the details.>"heroic overcoming"? my assI guess ML fans are supposed to like hopeless battles for doomed warriors?
>>23424795And now you're just ignoring all other critcism levied against you, despite having having been BTFO on this very point.

>>23424813>I guess ML fans are supposed to like hopeless battles for doomed warriors? On a meta level, that's the franchise in general. Muv Luv fans are in a hopeless battle to see anything but more gacha slop.Speaking of, anyone else pre-registered for Girl's Garden?

Checked through the archives and unfortunately all the TE novels and such are lost. Anyone secured them somewhere? I'd like to give translating a shot. I'm certain someone here has it, alongside all other novels of course. Linking them would be most appreciated. The epubs in particular.
>>23428623The old Tech Gian stories might as well be lost media by this point. The Anime and the VN supplanted them, and as far as I can tell there's no examples of them online anywhere. They weren't even scanned the way Schwarzesmarken's LNs were.
I'm sure I at least had some raw scans of a couple of the Tech Gian chapters but they're on a PC in another country that I won't be able to get to for another 7 months.
>>23429040Do you have the Schwarzesmarken LNs? I'm guessing it's impossible to find Total Eclipse and the main trilogy then. Far as the TSF series are concerned, only the 5th and 6th interested me as they contain rather relevant backstories. I've got the SS from 3 & 4 already. Dunno anything regarding 1 & 2.Anyway, going through the archives, seems there used to be an anon who'd trade all this around but all his mega links were shot dead. Also... someone has likely ripped the 'regenerative' magazines and they're up somewhere someplace.
>>23429877>someone has likely ripped the 'regenerative' magazines and they're up somewhere someplace.>httpsDELETETHIS://e-hentai.org/?f_search=muv+luv+regenerative
>>23429877The main trilogy's LNs are all on E-Hentai. As is all of the Schwarzesmarken sidestories (seriously, why are all their backstories not in the VN proper, but relegated to LNs not everyone will have access to?) and even Owarinaki's LN for a surprising deep cut. But no Total Eclipse. It's funny there was no TDA LNs ever made.
>>23430203>>23430461Much thanks. Managed to find scans of Total Eclipse so it's alright there. Got some other stuff too, all which unfortunately are in pdf format, so I'll take sometime and convert them to clean epubs. To summarize, just so we're all clear:1. Schwarzesmarken novels = 11 volumes, one of which is an 'ultimate' edition2. Total Eclipse = 7 volumes [ 1 extra supersized volume that's around 500 pages ]3. TSF = 6 volumes, has some Schwarzesmarken side stories4. Trilogy = 8 volumes [ 7 primary, 1 extra artbook with special stories ] 5. Regenerative = 5 volumes [ 1 extra, CODEX ]All this for a total of 37 volumes. That's enough to help out people starved for content. Now, since it's all just LNs and artbooks, it's infinitely easier to handle than a VN. .. The only tedious part is converting the pdfs, scans et al into epubs before anything else. I can do the pdfs okay -don't know any 'quick' way to do it, but I can do it- though I'm not sure how to handle the scanned stuff. FreHx1SH <- TE scans, in case anyone wants to give it a shot. It's a pixeldrain link. Just replace the last part with 'FreHx1SH 'If you know quick ways to get a clean epub out a pdf, that'll help too. With all that said, I'll report back once I've got something to show.
>>23430461>It's funny there was no TDA LNs ever made.fanfics ascended to canon. maybe the VNs are enuff...>>23430656cheers ,m8
>>23431193Luxin wrote a ton of fan doujins, all of which are on E-Hentai. I'd love to see those translated more than stuff that's got VN translations, Luxin's understanding of geopolitics does give him a leg up over Kouki, and he's got a wider view of the war, showing events in Italy and China for example.
>>23430656I wish you good luck in your endeavors. ...And I hope you won't be disappointed in the process.
>>23431201I read his "novels". It is immediately obvious that he is, as the Internet says, a Taiwanese who studied in the USA. By the way, it was very funny to see his "admiration" for the genius Sakaki Korechika in scenes from his graphomania about the events of 1998 - just like the Great Infallible Insightful Leader... (Who also managed to carry out an extremely dubious political manipulation from the point of view of the law and started a direct political conflict with the Shogunate, but for Luxin this is normal, because it is SAKAKI KORCHIKA)...At the same time, the guy managed to screw everything up and lose his head - a "genius", damn it.

>>23426144And to hell with him. A high-ranking commander who ruins his troops and exposes allies for the sake of moralizing, which led to even greater casualties due to the failure of a combat operation, should never, under any circumstances, have been allowed to command.
>>23431959Easy.Starting from plutocratic collusion and division of budget funds, up to some agreements that turned out to be ephemeral.I'll just remind you that the real result of Korechiki's rule in the Alternative is:- half of Japan is destroyed by BETA- the government is in conflict with the army and the guard- tense relations with neighbors and difficult relations with the UN and the USA- contempt for the common people, up to poisoning them with drugs so that they don't "rebel"- bringing the industry to a state where the leading national project is given to a corporation and the "extremely unreliable USA" for revision- overthrow of the government of the "brilliant and universally respected" Sakaki Korechiki and his head is somewhere thereMaybe at some point he made some successful political maneuvers, but in general this guy is ready to share with Genbu Kururgi the title of "the most crappy politician of the fictional Japan".

As far as I know, the original Gunparade game has no translation. The first season of the anime Gunparade was pretty good, but it suffers from a number of problems as an anime advertisement for a game with a small number of episodes - a sharp build-up of drama towards the end and a worthless ending.By the way, the picture is "funny":- Soviet TSF which was made thanks to stolen US technologies- which could not win the competition with (never existed in reality) Japanese super-prototype- also works effectively only with the help of esper technology for which it is necessary to conduct forced vivisection with amputations of limbs- it still glitched during the final battleSlop and dirt on bloody and dark Russia - everything as it should be in ML.
>>23436941>and Himmer allying with Stalin after Germany is nuked to 'preserve National Socialism' and hand all Eastern Europe over to the SovietsSpecifically about this moment - absolute nonsense and implausible stupidity.I will just remind you that "national socialism" which is "Nazism" proclaimed Slavs as subhumans and communists as enemies. During the invasion of the USSR, the Germans quite officially carried out a policy of "war crimes" against Russian non-combatants.So under no conditions and no circumstances would the Germans in occupied Eastern Europe bow to the "red Untermenschen" to conclude peace.Just as there is no sense for the Russians to negotiate anything with those who destroyed and ruined a significant part of the Soviet Union and to preserve their regime in any form.In addition, under the conditions prescribed in the alternative history of Regenerative - the end of Lend-Lease and the unfriendly attitude of the allies towards Moscow - the Russians will need the lands and resources of Eastern Europe. So this territory will sooner become socialist than any other. In general, everything is against this passage - politics, war, economics and history.
>>23449107Except you know the real life parts of it like when the USSR and the Nazis split eastern europe between each other. Maybe next time don't get your history from a youtube video.

>>23449350I don't want to play anymore...
New player here. Almost finished with Unlimited, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts.Extra took some time to get through because it was pure SOL and I wasn't really pacing myself, so I would get burnt out and drop the game for a couple months. Unlimited did a much better job at mixing those SOL stories with an actual plot.Still, I am glad I played through all of Extra and got to know these characters before jumping into Unlimited & Alternative. I think it also helps you empathize with Takeru's homesickness.Oh and one thing Extra has over Unlimited is variation in the routes. It's cool that Unlimited has a single plotline that makes use of all the heroines, but that makes replaying it for all the different endings very predictable. Watching all the girls struggle with game-boy addiction gets old after the first or second time.
>>23449350>>23449473Good. Now you can read my fanfic where their souls are isekaied to a brighter setting where they can redeem themselves and become national heroines in their own right, except the fanfic is unreadable because I watched the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I became absolutely obsessed with a character from that movie, and now a critical plot moment in the isekai fanfic is buried under a bunch of dumb quotes from that movie.

>>23440744Muv-Luv's setting is not worth writing home about, but I never praise any franchise or book for it's "worldbuilding".What Muv-Luv did well was the technical presentation of the visuals, having loads and loads of background CGs, moving characters around in the background during conversations like Mikoto moving around the tables talking in the base Cafeteria while Takeru talks to other girls. The mechs being broken up into multiple moving parts (only particularly noticeable during the opening scene with the frontal shot of the mech approaching the brains, and then when the mechs are jumping around during the shogun chase sequence). The other thing it does well is having full Japanese voice acting, and a soundtrack with an overall high than average hit rate. And then story wise, the highlight is the shogun chase sequence as the writer(s) successfully managed to ratchet up the tension there in, and the base attack near the end. Otherwise, the VN is overly long and boring.

On the other hand, there are clear indications of a political conflict between Sakaki and the Shogun, who leads the Guard. >>23459921>How the fuck did you learn English?"English can eat shit!", you know.>https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/restoreAnd? Like, that's not the right word? Japan only benefited from this.>No.Does this mean you're arguing for the sake of arguing or that you have no arguments? When I read Unlimited and Alternative, I got the impression that TSFs moved around with boosted jumps, so when I watched the animated depictions, I was surprised to see TSFs flying and hovering like mobile suits from Gundam. Did anyone else experience this?
>>23477033It's not always shown but they did mention in the VNs that they can actually fly. It's just dangerous to cruise at altitude in combat, and a waste of fuel to hover when standing will do, so it's only done for rapid (re)deployment and most combat movement is boost jumps and extreme low movement (similar to a Dom). I think total eclipse definitely depicts a bit more flying than the vn suggested they should be doing though, but I guess it's a rear base.

>>23450140>>23451097Finished Unlimited and am about 10 hours into Alternative. Skipping Extra would have been a terrible idea. Takeru having vague memories of his original world at first and then getting hit by nostalgia the more he dreams and remembers it really matches how my memory of Extra was fading as I got more engaged in the new setting. I read it recently enough that I don't think nostalgia is the word for seeing those scenes replay, but I have a fondness for them that does the job of putting me in Takeru's shoes. I read that Unlimited's inclusion in the first game was kept secret, and with that in mind I can definitely forgive how much of it is just setup. I am curious if any of the spin-offs I'll play after Alternative have a brand new MC and the heroines are Takeru's five alternate timeline daughters. So far, Alternative has done a good job mixing up the repeating events from Unlimited and bringing in more of the political intrigue we only got glimpses of earlier. I also enjoy how much Takeru has changed (it's definitely still him though) and the existential moments where he compares himself to who he used to be. He's really a man of two worlds now.
>>23481065>man of two worlds Yep, very well put. Enjoy how that idea of him will change as you go through the story more.

>>23477033There is one funny blunder of the authors connected with the flight of the TSF - in one of the additional materials on the ML, an attempt by Sufoni to sell the Germans his Su-11 from the 1st generation of the TSF, whose key feature was the ability to fully fly, was presented, HOWEVER, in Schwarzesmarken it was clearly shown that ALL TSFs of the 1st generation could fly.>https://muvluv.fandom.com/wiki/Dirty_smileAs a result, this whole scene turns out to be meaningless, but it humiliates the Soviet Union through the eyes of the Germans... ugh.

In practice, there is a text about "muh, our 1st generation TSF can fly!", but at the same time there is Schwarzesmarken in which "muh, all 1st generation TSFs fly!".The authors of ML cannot even agree on the internal sequence of development and features of TSF, which results in crap.

>>23489227>Sufoni HR rep doing a salespitch to an aircraft engineer on classified machinesIt looks like you need to learn to read, moron. >>23487670rather silly to give them the same last name
>>23489269sorry retard but its not contradictory for a company recruiter to make a somewhat implied white lie that wasnt even explicitly stated in the article you linked, all that's said is >As you can see, if you are not worried about fuel consumption, it becomes possible for a TSF to fly! which is not the same as claiming the first flying TSF but, again, you don't even know what "restore" means so it's entirely unsurprising that you would take it to mean that and you will likely insist as much despite being ESL
>>23489854>As you can see, if you are not worried about fuel consumption, it becomes possible for a TSF to fly!>which is not the same as claiming the first flying TSFThis implies that other TSFs cannot fly, unlike the Su-11. But Schwarzesmarken clearly shows that all TSFs can fly, without even bothering too much with fuel consumption.I repeat, this is some kind of inconsistent crap.>its not contradictory for a company recruiter to make a somewhat implied white lieThe problem is that by the time the Su-11 was "advertised", the F-4 and MiG-21 were already in service, as was the F-5, and they were quite capable of flying. Therefore, promoting the Su-11 as a "flying TSF" makes no sense, since everyone knows that this is not an advantage.
>>23492183Honestly side media like this is often inconsistent, and muvluv core works have had multiple authors anyways without always the highest quality standards. My take is that the author's intent was to be showing the germans introduced as conventional airplane engineers that "even a TSF can fly", not that only the Su-11 was capable of flying. There were a few lines about how it was just brute forcing it and how the engineer in them did not like that approach.
