The most common criticism of this show in Japan isn't the comedy. It's the further focus on Newtype shit.
OK, dude. I know this thread was spawned by the other one where some people preferred the shows without Newtypes over the ones that had them, but what exactly is your objective with this one? Do you want us to speculate how ZZ could have been better? Do you want a discussion on Gundam without Newtypes? You can't be like "Japan says ZZ sucks because of Newtypes" and then not direct the conversation you want to engage in.

The most relevant thing about him is that hes "powerful as a Newtype".Like when Amuro and Lalah have their "newtype understanding moments" their dynamic also plays off their similarities and differences as characters, again when Kamille and Haman see each others memories which highlights their similarities.When it happens with Judau and Haman there is nothing connecting them but the psychic Newtype link, theres no sense of them being similar as people that could understand each other if they met outside of war, its just telepathy.

It's a split second scene where Amuro abandons his stuff at hand, causing Gyunei to mistake it for Nu while Amuro strikes from the side.It's sort of referenced in Hathaway's Flash when Lane is defeated at the end of first film.
