Post good western mecha
>>23467949 does the AMP pull from the scopedog or does it recreate it from first principles (or rather, the aliens loader + attack helicopters)? also postan warbots
Don’t mind me, just skipping to the end.
>>23467949You first
>>23467949Imagine being so good, that Armored Core copies your design…
>>23468274The original Highlander was inspired by Shockwave from Transformers. It's all cyclical.
>>23468274>>23468288Only the head is vaguely similar
All of these are bad. Western mecha always look terrible because they lack the fundamentals of Japanese design philosophy and artistic lineage.
>>23468906Whatever, man!
>>23469047>armored core goes full western mudcore humvee tech>it's the ugliest generation by far
>>23469047>>23469091I unironically like gen V aesthetics
BTtactical, industrial, functional
>>23467949
>>23474697>gimbal camera on mechsupreme sex
>>23478196shame those designs were wasted on the awful sequel
The Eldar mechs from Warhammer 40,000 are so fucking cool.>>23478196>>23478762The only one of those designs that's good is Saber Athena. Besides her, only Obsidian Fury is the only good Jaeger design from that film.
>>23479189Not even, the only good one is November Ajax
>>23479514November Ajax is fine. He doesn't feel especially notable, which is the problem with the Uprising designs. You put them next to the variety that is Gipsy Danger, Cherno Alpha, Crimson Typhoon and Striker Eureka, and they just look so samey and dull by comparison.
>>23468274>compares the Basho to the Highlander>never noticed the Metal Gear REX
>>23468288But was it though? The similarities are pretty tenuous. Was it stated somewhere that was the inspiration?
>>23474726Honestly, yeah. These are great. Forgot all about them.
>>23479618I could see maybe the original Shockwave box art being half remembered factoring into the first depiction of the highlander, but it's definitely not a trace job like the Atlas/Scopedog. Someone should ask Knutson.
>>23475968Good taste, brother. Shame titanfall was killed by its shitty battle royal spinoff.
>>23481829Is there any media that actually portrays these things as cool as the lore hypes them up to be?
>>23474726'Member the Jack Kirby ones and gow they were just giant humans?
>>23482811>humanwell, relative to Kirby's art
>>23468274Yeah this is a huge stretch. If anything the Basho has more details in common with the Destroid Spartan or even a Legioss.
>>23482867I mean.
>>23482023https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oeq07P8EfLc
>>23482932eh, that's more like a humvee shooting a 50 cal at an anthill. The best part of Kill Lupercal is the tense little bit where the pack is being hunted by that shadowsword. It's a good tense moment.
>>23482919God I can't fucking wait for the new game to come out. The new audiobook made spacers actually sound terrifying.
>>23484274Qrd on the audiobook? I've been waiting forever for Killers.
>>23486523If you listened to the first audiobook it's more of the same. And much like the game, it focuses more on infantry than mechs or vehicles. A good chunk of it is out on the stellar jockies youtube, I'd give it a listen. As for the general plot. It focuses on one of the killteams sent to a corporate world that the SNC was based out of, with the purpose of killing the brigadors from the first game.
Some the the newer battletech shit is neat
