Yas x Tomino interview translated
https://zeonic-republic.net/?page_id=12512

Lots of Zetarager vindication here. They admit 0079 was a complete story and Z and ZZ are inferior.
Tomino says he made ZZ to say you are stupid for wanting more Gundam.
>>
Where did you find this and how do I navigate Zeonic-Republic
>>
>These projects aren’t the product of a single individual’s will. You only understand them clearly in hindsight, what worked, what didn’t, but it’s not my place to judge. It’s fundamentally someone else’s work. If I try to get involved, it inevitably leads to interpersonal friction. Even though I’m credited as the original creator, I’ve consistently emphasized that Gundam didn’t come into existence by my efforts alone. It wasn’t just the names like yours or Okawara who helped me; it was everything happening around us at the time that allowed Gundam to be born.
We've heard this before, though less grudgingly this time.
>>
>Yas: You were always at the top, which allowed me to step away. If I’d stayed, I would’ve ended up exactly like you, trapped only working on Gundam projects. That’s why I left.
No, Yas left because Tomino was barring him from input on Zeta.

Source?

Why does he need to when everyone knows him?
>>
>Tomino: My true interest lies in practical science, not science fiction. For me, the Gundam universe isn’t sci-fi, it’s reality, complete with inherent thematic elements. That’s precisely why Gundam has persisted for thirty years. If it had been merely “sci-fi-like,” it never would’ve become so deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
Tomino pulling the Margaret Atwood rationalization. I hope he gets drowned in a lake.

>Interviewer: Was it easy to collaborate with [Tomino]?

>Yasuhiko: Yes, it was easy. Especially when we were working on First Gundam, I knew what he was thinking. We were like comrades in a way. But when it came to the sequel, there were various reasons, but he went in a different direction, and I couldn’t follow.

>Interviewer: When you got to Zeta Gundam (1985) and Gundam F91 (1991)?

>Yasuhiko: Yeah. Around the time of Zeta, they shut me out and said, “Don’t come again, but if you do, make an appointment first.” I was shut out. I wasn’t that kind of person. It was the Media’s fault for putting me on his shoulders.

Way to criticize an interview that's nearly thirty years old, dumbass. Tell us how you know better than a series creator again? Sit down and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>23490676
I don't see the OP interview on the Interviews tab.
Also, is this really posted on Zeonicscans's Bsky/Twitter?

I wanna ask Tomino his thoughts on jews; more specifically if he's gotten even more based since the 80s.
>>
>>23492015
the idea came from someone's vision.
it's like the first guy to see fire and then tried to describe that thing to his buddies.

0079 is a complete work but Tomino is pretty honest with his approach to Zeta. He gave the fans something different even if it couldn't beat 0079. ZZ is a obvious cash grab and everyone knows it.

Not once did he call Zeta a bad show in any remark. They talk about Yamamto being completed yet getting sequels just doing the same thing over again. This is why Tomino says this:
>Exactly. With Z and ZZ, there was zero need to inherit First. First is complete.

Then says

Yet that applied strictly within the framework of the original series. Z, ZZ, and the later series aren’t true continuations of the original. They may look like they’re running on preset tracks, but narratively, the original is self-contained. Consequently, the first Gundam became an insurmountable wall. Subsequent works could mimic the style, but as a narrative, the first series remains complete.

All this means is that the first Gundam isn't able to be beaten. So Tomino did something knew with Zeta/ZZ. Obviously the first Gundam is so classic and iconic that they can't replace it but these statements don't see intensely negative towards either shows.

Also KYS zetarager

Why does he waste time with these stupid ass fucking interviews instead of the forty thousand projects he's behind on? Blue Destiny, AOZ, none of them have been touched in a decade.
